WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Money in the Bank for Week of June 17
WWE Money in the Bank 2016 is finally here.
Sunday's event, which will crown a new top contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, is an important one because anything can happen. The New Era of the company is in play here, which means the winner of the namesake ladder match could very well lead WWE forward.
It's a moment that had to happen. After all, WWE couldn't book John Cena vs. Randy Orton forever.

WWE is indeed looking ahead here, which is a good thing. Whether it's Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn or Dean Ambrose who win, WWE has options.
Of course, fans can't forget about John Cena vs. AJ Styles. This is a dream match that many believed would never happen, and now it's happening in a WWE ring. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins rounds out the trio of main event-caliber matches here, as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be up for grabs.
But as with every WWE event, the rumor mill is already turning online. Much of it may be conjecture right now, and much of it may indeed prove to be true. But despite what comes of it, there's no doubt that fans are talking about Money in the Bank, which is definitely a good thing for WWE.
Finn Balor's WWE debut?

Finn Balor is coming to WWE's main roster. It's only a matter of time.
The former NXT champion is one of the most unique and creative Superstars to ever compete in a WWE ring, and it's his creativity that WWE needs on the main event stage.
He is arguably the most special talent since The Undertaker and has the potential to earn some serious money for WWE.
That money could be coming very soon.
According to the Wrestling Observer (via Wrestling Inc), Balor is indeed coming soon to the main roster. It's a move that's bound to happen, and one that should. Of course, NXT must be ready for it in the first place, and there's also the matter of Balor vs. Nakamura.
Would a Money in the Bank debut necessarily mean Finn is on the main roster to stay, or would it be a part-time transition?
The fact is WWE needs more show time on Raw and SmackDown, and Finn can provide it. He is very good at connecting to the audience and has a legion of fans who will follow him when he does make the jump.
But if shows up on June 19, what will he do?
That is perhaps the best part about Balor: He has no apparent agenda. Fans won't know what his plans will be or whose side he'll be on. The move will be new and would present many possibilities.
Balor's options will be wide-open.
Superstars return?

The same Wrestling Observer report also indicated that some shelved Superstars will finally come back into the fray.
Neville and Randy Orton will both be back soon, which is definitely a good thing. Neville may not have been working on the world title level when he was injured, but his presence has been missed nonetheless.
His work ethic and physical ability cannot be denied.
Orton's best years are arguably behind him, but that does not mean he can't make an impact when he comes back. Perhaps that impact could come at Roman Reigns' expense at Money in the Bank, or maybe he could actually prevent Rollins from winning right when it looks like he will get the pin.
But the big story here is The Wyatt Family.
WWE's twisted backwoods clan is on the way back and could very well return on Sunday. While many fans can't wait to see them back in action, just as many are nervous about it, thanks to WWE's abysmal track record of booking the Wyatts in the right way.
Wyatt could be the hottest character babyface fans have seen since the aforementioned Undertaker, but that has not even remotely happened. For whatever reason, he just cannot move forward in the company.
He hasn't even become WWE's top heel at any point during his run. Why does he continue to be mishandled when he obviously has the necessary tools to take over?
The same question could be asked of his family, specifically Luke Harper. Harper is one of the best big men in WWE and a very underrated star. What can be done to move Harper up the ladder and realize his potential?
Will Money in the Bank see The Wyatt Family return?
NXT gutted by the brand split?

Despite which NXT stars may appear at Money in the Bank, the fact is that more will be on the way to the main roster. According to the Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez (via Wrestling Inc), more than six names could be leaving Full Sail University behind for the bright lights of Raw and SmackDown.
This is to be expected, as WWE's upcoming brand split will require each program's roster to be expanded. The only way to do that is to tap into the developmental brand.
This makes sense; that's what NXT is there for, after all. If NXT does not produce talent for WWE to use on the main roster, then what's the purpose of the brand's existence? Of course NXT talent will be moving up, and they surely want to.
But where will this leave NXT?
If Finn, American Alpha, Bayley and others make the move, then what's next? How will NXT recover from losing that much talent? Though the company is there to produce talent, how deep should WWE go, considering the long-term repercussions?
This is a talent raid the likes of which fans have not seen since The Monday Night Wars. Though this is a much more controlled environment and WWE is calling all the shots, could it backfire anyway?
The fact is that there's no getting away from this. Talent must be moved around in order to make the brand split a success, and that is exactly what WWE will do. But for fans of the developmental brand, the overall quality of that product is in danger, and there is cause for concern.
