WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners and Losers from June 15
On the heels of NXT TakeOver: The End, many wondered what was next for former world champion Finn Balor after another loss to Samoa Joe.
He answered that question in dramatic fashion Wednesday night courtesy of an interruption by Shinsuke Nakamura and an agreement to a future showdown between the two. Both The Demon and The King of Strong Style emerged from the show-closing segment as the biggest winners of the night.
The lead babyfaces on the roster, they brought a unique take to the cliched main event promo segment. Neither yelled or screamed. No one expressed anger or rage. There was no animosity between them, nor were there any signs of dislike.

Instead, Balor and Nakamura expressed respect for each other. The latter put The Demon over as the icon of NXT, a label not typically tossed around lightly on the brand. In return, Balor put the Japanese sensation over by choosing him as the next mountain to conquer on his way to greatness in WWE.
In a day and age where feuds are started over smashed plants and torn jackets, it was refreshing to see two stars admit the respect and admiration they have for each other, all the while expressing a desire to prove they are the better man and setting up an epic encounter for sometime in the near future.
The immediately recognizable stars are not the only two to emerge from Wednesday's WWE Network broadcast winners. A young team rapidly moving up the ranks in NXT and a destructive new tandem ready to roll over the competition also had strong nights.
One flashy newcomer whose athleticism can't be denied—but whose ability to connect with audiences can—was not so lucky.
Winners: The Authors of Pain
Much of Wednesday's broadcast was devoted to establishing new contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championships, and devastating newcomers The Authors of Pain wasted little time in setting the tone for the evening's festivities.
Gzim Selmani and Sunny Dhinsa demolished their unnamed opponents and put everyone on notice: They are in NXT not just to acquire championship gold, but also to bring pain and punishment to anyone unlucky enough to oppose them.
That message was delivered loud and clear, and the result was an impressive first showing from two big men who bring a unique look to the brand.
Loser: Andrade "Cien" Almas
If you judged Almas based on the vignettes that aired prior to his debut at TakeOver: The End, you were stunned by the Superstar who exploded through the curtain, brash and arrogant. More importantly, he lacked the respect and dignity he showed in those video packages.
Add in the ring gear that looks like it belongs in a Las Vegas Chippendales show and a fairly one-dimensional skill set, and you have a young competitor who has not clicked with the NXT audience the way he was intended to.
Worst of all is that he has, to this point, been programmed against Tye Dillinger. While The Perfect 10 has never enjoyed a sustained push of any kind, he has the respect of an audience that recognizes his skills. The result has been considerable adulation for the Canadian-born competitor and disenchantment with the newcomer.
There is plenty of time to alter Almas' presentation, but serious changes must be made to his appearance and his character, or he will fail miserably—and in grand fashion.
Winners: TM-61
From the moment they set foot in an NXT ring, Nick Miller and Shane Thorne have impressed. While they lost their first televised match, they gave Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano all they could handle.
On Wednesday night, they took their performance to the next level, defeating former tag team champions Blake and Murphy to firmly establish themselves as one of the brightest young tandems in professional wrestling.
With villains like The Revival reigning over the division, a flashy team like TM-61 would be the perfect foil. Its innovative offense would mesh perfectly with the ground-and-pound, smashmouth style of the champions, and its youthful energy would be be a welcome change to Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder's old-school mentality.
Expect bigger and better things for the Australian duo as they move onward and upward in NXT.
