Royal Ascot 2016: Winners, Payouts and Orders of Finish on Tuesday
The 2016 Royal Ascot started with six races on Tuesday, including the historic Queen Anne Stakes and the King's Stand Stakes. Tepin (11-2) finished ahead of the favourite Belardo (9-2) on her European debut to take the former, while the in-form Profitable (4-1) took the latter on what was a fine day for jockey Adam Kirby.
As shared by Channel 4 Racing, Kirby's participation was a question mark after his girlfriend gave birth earlier on Tuesday, and he couldn't fight back his tears after taking the win:

Recap
All eyes were on the three Group One races taking place on Tuesday, with punters keeping a close eye on the King's Stand Stakes in particular. Profitable, who had already taken two wins this season, was not made the favourite ahead of the race, with Mecca's Angel (6-4) handed the top odds due to the soft turf at Ascot.
The more seasoned punters gladly took a chance on Profitable, a strong finisher who is almost impossible to beat if positioned well entering the last three furlongs, and they weren't disappointed.
Channel 4 Racing shared highlights of the final dash:
Mecca's Angel disappointed tremendously, finishing second to last, and it was Cotai Glory (33-1) who came closest to upsetting the eventual winner, closing ground in the final furlongs but losing by a neck. Goken (50-1) also grabbed a podium spot.
It was a good day for the in-form horses in the Group One races, with 2000 Guineas winner Galileo Gold (6-1) holding off The Gurkha (4-5) and Awtaad (5-2) in a tight battle in the St. James' Palace Stakes.

Jockey Frankie Dettori found the perfect spot for Galileo Gold after a solid start, riding on the tail of Cymric for the majority of the one-mile dash. The eventual winner moved to the lead after the bend, while Awtaad slightly held up the favourite, which may have contributed to his doom. The soft sod certainly didn't help, as he lost some of his trademark speed in the sprint.
Dettori rode the perfect race, and even on ideal ground, it would have been hard to catch Galileo Gold. Per the racecourse's official Twitter account, the veteran used all of his local knowledge, and he has plenty:
The day started with a bang, as Tepin, making her European debut, handily won the Queen Anne Stakes. A hugely successful horse from the United States, Tepin was given 11-2 odds because of the soft ground, and the five-year-old rewarded the more adventurous punters who stuck with their bet.
As shared by Channel 4 Racing, the Breeder's Cup winner was hardly threatened by joint-favourite Belardo:
Belardo was expected to dominate after an impressive showing at Newbury, and with pacemaker Barchan turning the race into a true test of stamina, the more explosive Tepin appeared to be in trouble. Jockey Julien Leparoux took plenty of chances and took an aggressive line, and even on the soft ground, Tepin's speed didn't diminish during the final stretch.

Caravaggio (13-8) added to what was a strong showing for the American horses, winning the Group Two Coventry Stakes in dominant fashion. Mehmas (8-1) and the rest of the pack never came close to overtaking the favourite, who handed trainer Aidan O'Brien his record eighth win in the race, per SportingLife.com.
The racing at Royal Ascot will continue on Wednesday with six more races, including the iconic Prince of Wales' Stakes, the only Group One race of the day.
