The Florida Gators defeated the Florida State Seminoles 7-0 on Monday in the final game of the 2016 NCAA baseball Super Regionals.
With the win over their in-state rivals, the Gators clinched the eighth and last spot in the 2016 College World Series, joining six schools that won their matchups Sunday and the Arizona Wildcats, which completed their series against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday.
Here's a look at the two brackets for college baseball's biggest stage:
| Coastal Carolina | Arizona |
| Florida | Miami (FL) |
| TCU | Oklahoma State |
| Texas Tech | UC Santa Barbara |

Florida vs. Florida State
Florida rode its loaded pitching staff and a pair of home runs to clinch another trip to the College World Series.
Lightning delayed the game for nearly two hours, as the first pitch was delivered at roughly 8:40 p.m. ET.
Three Gators pitchers were selected on Day 1 of the 2016 MLB draft, and the two first-rounders shut down a Florida State offense that led the ACC in scoring.
A.J. Puk, who went sixth overall to the Oakland Athletics, started the game. He went 3.2 innings while allowing only one hit, but his pitch count was inflated thanks to six walks.
The short outing was not an issue, as Dane Dunning, whom the Washington Nationals selected 29th overall, took over and helped close the game out. Dunning went 4.1 innings and conceded only four hits.
Shaun Anderson came in to pitch a scoreless ninth inning.
Florida scored early thanks to a wild pitch by Florida State starter Cole Sands. NCAA Baseball provided a look at the play:
Pete Alonso, a second-round pick of the New York Mets, padded the lead with a solo home run in the third inning. The first baseman has been on fire as of late, per Florida's Twitter account:
The game was sealed in the fifth inning, when JJ Schwarz blasted a grand slam to give Florida a commanding advantage, as NCAA Baseball showed:
Schwarz finished the night with five RBI.
Sands allowed one earned run and five hits in 3.1 innings. His relievers failed to pick him up, though, as Jim Voyles gave up four runs in just one inning.
Florida State was able to win the first contest in the series, but the Gators were the more well-rounded team. After picking up a 5-0 victory to even the series Sunday, Florida was able to shut out the Seminoles for the second straight game Monday.
If it can get similar run support in the College World Series, Florida will be the favorite to win the national title thanks to its sensational pitching.
