Boston College vs. Miami (FL)
Despite both teams playing in the ACC, Boston College and Miami never played in the regular season or the conference tournament.
The Hurricanes have been one of the nation's top teams throughout the season, but Boston College is a serious threat to deny Miami of a trip to the College World Series.
The Eagles have a stout pitching staff that ranks 42nd nationally in team ERA, but Miami has an offense powered by catcher Zack Collins, who was selected in the first round of the MLB draft Thursday.
Boston College already threw ace Justin Dunn in Game 1, and the team may not have enough depth to combat the Hurricanes again. Miami wins.
Louisville vs. UC Santa Barbara
Louisville has an absolutely loaded roster, which Scout.com's Jody Demling noted Thursday:
The Cardinals, who rank fourth nationally in team ERA and batting average, are a complete team that is too much for the Gauchos.
UC Santa Barbara has had a great season to make it this far, but Louisville is a serious threat to win a national title, and its journey will continue Saturday.
East Carolina vs. Texas Tech
Texas Tech enters the tournament as the fifth national seed, and it is clearly the favorite over an East Carolina team that was the three seed in its regional.
The team is superior at the plate, as it ranks 30th nationally in scoring, while East Carolina is not even in the top 100. Texas Tech also performs well in the NCAA tournament under head coach Tim Tadlock, per ABC's Brian Holland:
The Red Raiders' playoff pedigree and offensive firepower lead them to a win Saturday.
Oklahoma State vs. South Carolina
Playing in the rugged SEC, South Carolina is battle-tested against some of the nation's best teams.
After a loss to open regional play, the Gamecocks have been on a tear. The team scored at least 10 runs in its last three games, including a 23-2 rout over Rhode Island.
Both teams have similar-caliber pitching staffs, but South Carolina's dynamic offense will get the job done here.
Florida vs. Florida State
The Gators dominated this rivalry during the regular season, outscoring Florida State 17-4 in three victories.
Florida is the top-ranked team in the nation for a reason, and its pitching staff is loaded with three pitchers who were drafted in Day 1 of the MLB draft Thursday. Overall, the team had five players drafted on the day.
Florida State had a rigorous schedule of its own in the ACC, and it showed it can take down top competition with a series win over Louisville earlier in the season.
However, the Seminoles are a bit too inconsistent to take against a dominant Florida squad, as the Gators take this game.
Arizona vs. Mississippi State
Arizona was lucky to reach this stage, as it had to win two straight against Louisiana-Lafayette in the regional final.
It showed Friday it can compete and win against a Mississippi State team that has been in the top 10 of the national rankings for most of the season.
Arizona's Bobby Dalbec outdueled first-round pick Dakota Hudson in the first game of the series, as the Wildcats are now one victory away from an improbable series win over the Bulldogs.
Mississippi State is one of the top teams in college baseball, so it will bring its A-game Saturday. Expect the Bulldogs to rebound.
TCU vs. Texas A&M
This series is the highlight of the Super Regional round, as each team is a legitimate contender for the College World Series.
Texas A&M won the SEC tournament and is one of the more complete teams in college baseball, but TCU is no stranger to postseason play.
The Horned Frogs were able to light up Texas A&M in the first game of the series, but the Aggies should be able to bounce back with their season on the line. This series seems destined to go the three games, and Texas A&M will force that with a win Saturday.
Coastal Carolina vs. LSU
Coastal Carolina enters the Super Regional fresh off of an impressive regional group win over North Carolina State, but LSU is a different animal.
The perennial power is among the nation's elite teams, as the Tigers took down a strong Rice team to make history, per the SEC Network:
Coastal Carolina will not back down from the Bayou Bengals, but LSU is a superior team from a personnel standpoint.
This series could go three games, but LSU will likely win Saturday behind starter Alex Lange.
