Belmont Stakes 2016 Post Time: NBC TV Start Time, Final Predictions and More
There will be no chance for a repeat Triple Crown winner, but the 2016 Belmont Stakes still features some recognizable names who are sure to be in contention.
Exaggerator returns after upsetting Triple Crown-threat Nyquist at the Preakness Stakes, but with Nyquist not running in the last major race of the season, Exaggerator is the heavy favorite heading into Saturday, according to OddsShark.com.
Cherry Wine and Stradivari are other top horses who will challenge Exaggerator, so the race promises to be tight coming down the stretch. Take a look below at the Belmont schedule along with some predictions before the race kicks off:

Cherry Wine, Stradivari and Suddenbreakingnews are the three horses after Exaggerator with the highest odds.
After an impressive second-place finish at the rain-soaked Preakness, Cherry Wine looks to be a key factor Saturday. He also has a prime starting position on the inside, beginning in the No. 3 post.
However, the Belmont is the longest course at 1 ½ miles, which does not bode well for a horse who usually lacks strong closing speed, per ESPN.com's Chris Fallica.
"He closed and passed tiring horses on a sloppy track to get second at Pimlico, but don't get fooled into thinking the added distance here will help him win the race," Fallica wrote. "He'll likely be too far out of it early for my liking to win, but could get up to complete the tri- or superfecta."
Stradivari, who will start at the No. 5 post, is another horse who was a wild card at the Preakness because of his lack of experience. He was among the leaders for most of the race at Pimlico, but he faded down the stretch.
Stradivari has looked good in practice at Belmont Park, per Daily Racing Form's Mike Welsch:
Suddenbreakingnews made a late rally to finish fifth at the Preakness, so the longer track could work to his benefit Saturday. He could also be ahead of the pack early, starting out of the fourth gate.
Per Odds Shark's Mike Dempsey, only three betting favorites have won the Belmont Stakes in the last 20 years, so history is against Exaggerator, but the horse is the class of the field.
He and Nyquist were the best horses in the previous two races. Without Nyquist to worry about, Exaggerator should take the prize. The long track works in his favor, as Exaggerator is a tremendous finisher.
Expect Stradivari or Suddenbreakingnews to hold the early lead, but Exaggerator will once again turn it on down the stretch and win.
