Whenever Brazil play in the early rounds of a major international tournament, it is expected they will sweep their competition aside and stroll to the knockout phase.

The presence of a strong Ecuador team has put that notion to rest in the USA, and coach Dunga's side will need good results in their final two Group B fixtures.

Brazil should have no trouble in their tie on Wednesday night, as their opponents languish with a world ranking of No. 71, but with Neymar not present at the latest edition of the Copa, expectations vary about the team's final standing.

Philippe Coutinho leads the charge for Brazil in Neymar's absence, and Dunga recognised the potential strain without his superstar.

"Obviously we'd like to have Neymar here, but this is a top team," Dunga said, per FourFourTwo. "Some of them are very young, but they have quality. This is an opportunity for these players to show they deserve to be on the first team."

Dunga has been forced to blood a number of young players at the competition, but Haiti do not seemingly have the power to hurt the inexperienced Brazilians.

Ecuador will believe the group win is theirs for the taking, and their mixture of function and power should see them progress with little stress.

Peru were always expected to pick up a favourable result in their opening game, but they do not have the defensive class to stop their latest opponent and are an unknown quantity after also choosing a youthful squad.

Bleacher Report’s Sam Tighe thinks Ecuador and Brazil feature in the top four teams at the Copa:

As Brazil miss the talents of Neymar, Douglas Costa, Kaka, Luiz Gustavo, Rafinha, Ricardo Oliveira and Ederson at the tournament, Dunga's chances of success remain slim.

Argentina appear head and shoulders above the eight-time Copa winners, with their added depth and flair.

Winning the group will be an achievement for the Selecao, and the experience gained for their youth will be invaluable in years to come, beyond the current manager's tenure.
