Alec NathanJun 6, 2016

There will be no Triple Crown winner in 2016 after Exaggerator flew past Nyquist down the backstretch at the Preakness Stakes. However, the 148th Belmont Stakes figures to be packed with intrigue, as Exaggerator seeks to flash late breakaway speed on the mile-and-a-half monster.

But before breaking down the colt's chances of going back-to-back on the Triple Crown circuit, here's a rundown of when and where you can catch all the action.

According to TwinSpires.com, the post draw for Saturday's Belmont Stakes will take place Wednesday at Rockefeller Center in New York City and be available to watch via live stream at the New York Racing Association's official website

Not only is the field expected to be small for the year's final Triple Crown gem, but Nyquist won't participate in the long-distance scamper. He had to withdraw due to an elevated white blood cell count, according to Daily Racing Form's David Grening

With the Kentucky Derby winner out of the picture, Exaggerator has the look of a heavy favorite after jockey Kent Desormeaux put forth a masterful performance at Pimlico Race Course, as NBC Sports documented on Twitter:

If Exaggerator is fortunate enough to draw the first post and start on the rail—which has historically produced winners at the Belmont—another victory could be in order.

"After all these starts, he finally realizes exactly what we're asking him to do," trainer Keith Desormeaux said, per the Courier-Journal's Jonathan Lintner. "We're not asking him to blow away from there from the gate and run as fast as he can. We want him to settle and finish, and that's very hard to do."

Patience will be of the utmost importance at Belmont Park since the race requires tremendous endurance, but if one horse can capitalize on a slower pace before breaking loose with the wire in his sights, it's Exaggerator.

"If the pace is slower in the Belmont Stakes, a very likely scenario, Exaggerator could lay a little bit closer so he has less ground to make up in the stretch," America's Best Racing's Mike Curry wrote, via ESPN.com

Intrigue may not abound in the Belmont like it did in the first two legs of the Triple Crown, but Exaggerator's quest to close out the biggest stretch in racing with consecutive triumphs will be reason enough to tune in.
