12 Sports Kids Who Became Internet Famous

Nick DimengoJun 2, 2016

Us adults like to have fun while watching sports or attending games live, but kids take things to a whole new level, man.

Whether that means dressing themselves up as their favorite player or head coach, or doing something that's so damn memorable that people can't help but smile at it, kids have put their fanaticism on display plenty of times.

And when it happens, the Internet will, sometimes, take notice.

From memes to retweets, here are the sports kids who became Internet famous.

LeBron James Jr.

OK, so this is a little bit of cheating on my part because, you know, LeBron James Jr.'s dad is one of the most popular and accomplished ballers on the planet.

Still, just because LBJ Sr. is a four-time league MVP and two-time champ doesn't mean that his offspring is going to be just as much of a stud on the hardwood. As both of LeBron's sons, Bronnie and Bryce, have proved, the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.

Bronnie constantly has highlight films of his AAU tourneys pop up on the Internet showing how dominant he is at the tender age of 11.

Jason Day's Son, Dash

Like a few other kids on this list, the Internet just ate up Jason Day's son Dash the moment it saw him.

With those flowing locks, all that energy and the little dances he has been known to bust out on occasion, the camera always seems to find Dash performing in the moment while cheering on his dad.

The kid is, like, four years old, but I still think he's one of the coolest guys in golf.

Little Ron Washington

How often does a grown man get to meet an athlete or head coach after dressing up like them? Very, very rarely, if at all.

Kids, though? They get all the luck.

That's what happened to Liam Roybal in 2010 when the Texas Rangers fan met then-Rangers manager Ron Washington after the seven-year-old became an exact replica of the two-time pennant-winning coach.

Shaving his head bald and looking like a dead ringer, the outfit made Liam a hit!

DeMar DeRozan's Daughter, Diar

A new addition to the list following her dad, DeMar DeRozan, helping lead the Toronto Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals, Diar often stole the spotlight during postgame press conferences.

Game after game, she joined her All-Star dad at the podium, and each time, she just got more and more famous because of her antics.

With a simple "I love my daddy" during one of DeRozan's interviews, the Internet had a new little kid to adore.

Chris Paul's Son, Chris Jr.

It's almost as if Chris Paul's son, Chris Jr., were old news thanks to all of these other kids trying to steal the spotlight from him. Make no mistake, though—he was the original Internet sensation.

That's because Chris Jr. made a name for himself during the NBA playoffs a couple of years ago when he showed up and did the now infamous "Blake Face," where he stood down Paul's teammate Blake Griffin with a hilarious impersonation.

The face went viral and became the No. 1 reason everyone will always remember Chris Paul's Mini-Me.

Little Chris "Birdman" Andersen

Current Memphis Grizzlies player Chris Andersen is a good role player, but one wouldn't expect the tatted-out forward to find an exact duplicate in the stands.

Then again, most fans don't want to fake-ink themselves up and shave their heads into crazy mohawks like Gianni Zandri—better known as Little Birdman.

No joke, this kid doesn't just look like him; he is Birdman, even going as far as to post things on his Instagram account as he poses with other athletes who want their pics taken with the kid. Pretty cool.

Performing Boston Celtics Kid

The eldest statesman on this list of famous Internet kids, Boston Celtics fan Jeremy Fry proved just how passionate he was about his team during a game a few years ago. OK, maybe he was just passionate about Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer."

Fry weaved and lip-synched his way down flights of stairs as he engaged with other fans along the way, becoming an instant hit.

Show me a better fan to ever show up on the Jumbotron. Bet you can't do it.

Baby Andy Reid

Dear sports-fan parents, if you want to make your baby famous for something they can't make a decision on for themselves, dress them up as a head coach of a sports team and watch the Internet go crazy.

Like Baby Andy Reid, among other toddlers, when an ironic photo shows up of a kid looking like a grizzled out coach, the reaction is always a good one.

Dancing Detroit Pistons Kid

The moment Detroit Pistons fan Antwain Alexander saw himself on the Jumbotron during a game a few years ago, he seized the opportunity and never relinquished it.

That's because the then-11-year-old kid was seen battling with 46-year-old usher Shannon Sales a few times, causing a viral explosion that saw the two make the rounds on late-night TV shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Here's some advice: If you're trying to learn how to dance, watch their videos over and over, because there will be some solid moves in there to try to duplicate.

Shirtless, Dancing Miami Marlins Kid

It's one of my favorite videos of all time—dancing Miami Marlins kid.

Seemingly minding his own business while taking in a baseball game with his family, once he realized that he was on the big screen inside the stadium, the kid went ape, not only sticking out his tongue but also lifting his shirt up and going absolutely insane.

As you'd imagine with moves like that, the kid—whose name is Jonathan—found himself being interviewed and all over the Internet.

For anyone who ever needs to describe excitement about something, a video of this dance will do it to perfection.

Lil' Steven Adams

Long hair? Check. Mustache? Check. Crazy tattoos? Yep, got those, too! Those are just some of the reasons why the Internet couldn't get enough of this young Oklahoma City Thunder fan who was dressed up as the team's Steven Adams.

Seen wandering around and posing for pics outside Chesapeake Energy Arena prior to Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, the miniature version of Adams brought some luck to OKC that night—the team won to take a 3-1 series lead.

Unfortunately, the story ends there, because the Thunder blew the commanding lead and were eliminated a few days later. Still, Lil' Steven Adams will forever be remembered.

Riley Curry

The Queen Bey of famous sports kids who became famous because of the Internet, two-time reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry's daughter Riley just kills fans with her cuteness.

Showing up at the podium with her dad over the past few postseasons, Steph might be the one answering the questions, but it's Riley who is capturing everyone's attention.

Just four years old, little Riley has become such a hit that she even has other young kids courting her—with dad's permission, of course.
