Manchester United Transfer News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Boost Amid Malmo Rumours
Manchester United target Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ruled out a return to his hometown club, Malmo FF, while encouraging the media to continue speculation on his future for his own amusement.
The Sweden striker appeared at a press conference on Wednesday and opened up on why he enjoys reading transfer rumours relating to him after his Paris Saint-Germain departure: "I want you to still write a lot of stories. I get excited when I see them because I want to see who is making up the best story. And when I am tired of it, I will let you know where I will go."

On comments he'd return to Malmo, he said:
"I'm too good for the Swedish league.
It's not something I've thought about, it's not something I've spent energy on. I haven't discussed it with anyone. I'm here to play the Euros and prepare myself in the best way possible. It's not something I've thought about.
I'm enjoying myself as long as I'm here. How long I'll be here I don't know.
"
The Red Devils have been one of the most fervently linked clubs in the running to sign Ibrahimovic, and the appointment of his former Inter Milan manager, Jose Mourinho, has only intensified speculation.
The Sweden star commented on his relationship with the three-time Premier League-winning tactician last week and did nothing to distance himself from a move to Old Trafford, per Guardian Sport:
Ibrahimovic turns 35 years of age in October, but after scoring 50 goals in 51 appearances for PSG last season, the world-class veteran appears to have lost none of his quality touch in front of the posts.
Sky Sports News HQ recently discussed the striker alongside some of the other targets Mourinho and United are likely to be interested in this summer:
Attack was the key area in which United were found wanting last season, though the progress of youngsters like Marcus Rashford, 18, and £36 million signing Anthony Martial, 20, was a welcome boost up front.
That pair of starlets may find their first-team chances impeded should Ibrahimovic arrive in Manchester, but Rashford and Martial would also stand to learn a lot from one of the sport's most prolific strikers.

Ibrahimovic scored 38 goals in Ligue 1 during 2015-16, 17 more than any other player, but he also crafted 13 assists and averaged five shots per game—at least 1.1 more than anyone else in the league—per WhoScored.com.
Per Gianluca Di Marzio translator David Amoyal, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi also shortened the list of suitors in the hunt for Ibrahimovic after saying the forward was too rich for his club's blood:
United would presumably be one of the few outfits around who could accommodate the wages Ibrahimovic would be expected to demand for a Premier League move, balanced by the fact there's no transfer fee involved.
A month remains until the summer transfer window officially opens and the continental elite rush to sign one of football's biggest names, and Ibrahimovic is more than happy to watch the melee unfold in front of him.
