Monday, June 20
"Giggs is on the brink of becoming the new Forest manager," per Matt Lawless of the Mirror. "Mirror Football understands the Manchester United legend has agreed to leave the club he has served 29 years as apprentice, player and coach to take on his first permanent managerial role."

Man United Reportedly Fear Giggs Exit
Wednesday, June 1
James Ducker of the Telegraph reported Giggs will return from Dubai, "where he has spent the past week deliberating over his future at Old Trafford," on Thursday. He also noted the club legend is expected to speak with Mourinho before the end of the week.
Ducker reported: "United have not yet given up hope that Giggs may stay at the club he joined on his 14th birthday, but they are aware of his disappointment at being overlooked for the manager's job in the wake of [Van Gaal's] sacking and his desire to try his hand at management."
Mourinho in Favour of Giggs, Eyes Coaching Changes
Monday, May 30
The Daily Mail's Jack Gaughan reported: "Mourinho is keen on keeping close those who have intimate knowledge of United and hopes Giggs will continue his long association in a job which bridges the gap between the first and under-21s teams."
However, Gaughan also noted Mourinho "is lining up Rio Ferdinand for a coaching role within his Manchester United revolution" and that he "wants Ferdinand to be part of his inner circle as he revamps United's structure."
According to an exclusive from Neil Ashton and Neil Custis of the Sun on May 23, United want the former winger to stay at the club, the Sun journalists reporting Mourinho agreed to make Giggs an offer to remain among the coaching staff. The Special One, however, is reportedly expecting the Welshman to turn it down.
Giggs Faces a Major Career Decision
After 29 years with the club, leaving United in these circumstances hardly represents the romantic farewell many of those associated with the Red Devils would have been hoping Giggs would receive.
The Independent's Mark Ogden also understands the 42-year-old is likely to leave and believes his decision could have big ramifications regarding his chances of one day becoming United manager: "[I'm] told Giggs unlikely to hang around at [United], but knows that leaving could be the end of his ambitions at [Old Trafford]. So still a big call to make."
However, if the Red Devils ever give the reins to the Welshman without him gaining some serious managerial experience elsewhere, his appointment would be seen as a huge gamble—one they can ill afford after the largely disappointing reigns of David Moyes and Van Gaal—so it would seem strange if it would preclude him from one day returning as a manager.
Giggs' departure isn't nailed on, though, and the prospect of honing his craft under Mourinho's tutelage—and possibly seeing a return to winning ways for United at the same time—could, in fact, tempt him into staying.
