Jurgen Klopp Reportedly Sung to Liverpool Squad After Europa League Final Loss
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp took a unique approach to comforting his players in the wake of their UEFA Europa League final defeat to Sevilla on Wednesday night, as he reportedly gave the squad an impassioned speech before leading them in a "sing-along."
According to the Daily Mail's Dominic King, the affable German gathered his players and staff at the team hotel and said: "Two hours ago you all felt s--t. Now hopefully you all feel better. This is just the start for us. We will play in many more finals."
Klopp then proceeded to sing the terrace chant "We are Liverpool, tra-la-la-la!" and "made the room join in," with the Mirror's David Maddock also reporting on the sing-along.

The Reds deservedly led the final 1-0 at half-time, but they were thoroughly outplayed by the resurgent Sevilla in the second half, as Kevin Gameiro netted seconds after the restart and Coke scored a brace.
Liverpool were perhaps unfortunate not to receive at least one penalty amid several handball incidents, and Klopp believes that proved costly, per Sky Sports News HQ:
Bleacher Report UK's Jack Lusby believes the team's capitulation was the cause of the defeat—something the manager must take some of the responsibility for—while the Telegraph's Paul Hayward was unimpressed with one aspect of the German's approach:
Indeed, per Maddock, the Reds "have thrown away 19 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season," only two teams had dropped more.
If Liverpool are to challenge for a top-four place or beyond next season, they'll need to be far more resilient than they have been this year, and it will be down to Klopp to instil that in them during pre-season.
Though he also lost the League Cup final and the Reds will not be in Europe at all next season, there are plenty of positives from Klopp's reign so far, and the Anfield faithful have cause to be optimistic for the future.
Sky Sports' Guillem Balague and football writer Joseph Musker believe as much:
Musker further anticipates sweeping changes to the squad this summer:
Indeed, Alberto Moreno demonstrated on Wednesday why he shouldn't be starting for the team, and there's plenty of scope for improvement in virtually all areas of the pitch.
There are perhaps very few managers who could pull off such an unusual attempt to improve morale, but such is Klopp's popularity it may well prove effective. The German can bring the best out of his players if given time, and next season his arrival at the club should begin to bear fruit.
