Preakness 2016: Post Time, TV Schedule and Livestream Hub for 141st Race
The second jewel of the Triple Crown, the 141st Preakness Stakes, is just a day away as Nyquist is in pursuit of history.
The field at Pimlico consists of just 11 horses that will be competing in the shortest track of the Triple Crown circuit at 1 3/16 miles. For horse racing fans who won't be able to get to Baltimore to view the race, here is the viewing information so you can enjoy the festivities from the comfort of your own home or favorite bar:
- Date: Saturday, May 21
- Post Time: 6:45 p.m. ET
- TV: NBC
- Livestream: NBC Sports Live Extra
Let's take a look at the field that could possibly provide an upset for Nyquist:

| 2 | Uncle Lino | Fernando Perez | Gary Sherlock | 20/1 |
| 3 | Nyquist | Mario Gutierrez | Doug O'Neill | 3/5 |
| 4 | Awesome Speed | Jevian Toledo | Alan Goldberg | 30/1 |
| 5 | Exaggerator | Kent Desormeaux | Keith Desormeaux | 3/1 |
| 6 | Lani | Yutaka Take | Mikio Matsunaga | 30/1 |
| 7 | Collected | Javier Castellano | Bob Baffert | 10/1 |
| 8 | Laoban | Florent Geroux | Eric Guillot | 30/1 |
| 9 | Abiding Star | J.D. Acosta | Ned Allar | 30/1 |
| 10 | Fellowship | Jose Lezcano | Mark Casse | 30/1 |
| 11 | Stradivari | John Velazquez | Todd Pletcher | 8/1 |
While Nyquist will be at the epicenter of the sporting world for at least a few minutes on Saturday, owner Paul Reddam isn't feeling any pressure, just like at the Kentucky Derby, as he explained to Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun:
"Actually, I don't think we were very stressed about the Derby. Everyone was shockingly relaxed. I think that reflected confidence in the horse. This time, if there's any nervousness it will be more about, 'OK, we're going to have a soupy track, it sounds like. We haven't been on that.' But beyond that, it is what it is. So we're pretty good that way, nerve-wise.
"
That soupy track could pose a problem as weather forecasts, per Weather.com, say that there will be plenty of rain all throughout Saturday, which will make the track conditions less than desirable.
Especially with Exaggerator, the Preakness' second-favorite horse, being the best rain horse in the field. He showed off his dominance in foul weather at the Santa Anita Derby in April:
If the track doesn't hold the expected downpour well, then there's an improving chance that Nyquist's Triple Crown bid could end in anticlimactic, disappointing fashion.
