Ramsey Comments on Recovery
Sunday, June 26
Safid Deen of the Tallahassee Democrat shared Ramsey's comments on his status ahead of training camp:
On June 15, Ramsey talked about his recovery from knee surgery, via Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com: "I'd rather be playing football. So it is what it is as far as a process right now. I feel no pain. There is no swelling or anything. If you all weren't asking me questions about it, I wouldn't know I had knee surgery."
Ramsey later said he would be back for training camp, per DiRocco.

Caldwell Comments on Ramsey's Injury
Thursday, June 2
Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said Ramsey is "doing great right now and will be 100 percent ready for camp," per Tom Pelissero of USA Today.
Caldwell said he has "zero" long-term concerns after the surgery. "Even Dr. (James) Andrews said this little meniscus deal, it won’t affect him at all, considering the part of the knee it was in and how small (the tear) was,” he added.
Ramsey Undergoes Surgery
Tuesday, May 24
The Jaguars announced that Ramsey underwent successful surgery on his injured knee and that "he is expected to return by training camp." Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Ramsey's injured meniscus "required just a trim," saying it was the "best-case scenario."
Adam Schefter of ESPN noted that doctors told Ramsey he is expected to miss six weeks while he recovers from the procedure.
Ramsey Gives Jaguars Hopes for Long-Term Success
This is the second year in a row that the Jags' top draft pick has suffered an injury before the regular season. Dante Fowler Jr. missed his rookie campaign after he tore his ACL last May.
The fact Ramsey hurt his right knee is somewhat concerning since he had microfracture surgery on it when he was a high school sophomore.
Before the news, Ramsey's arrival had Jaguars fans feeling optimistic about the team's chances ahead of the 2016 season. Jacksonville's work in the draft garnered almost universal praise, with many highlighting what the Florida State Seminoles product will bring to the Jags defense.
Pro Football Focus' Steve Palazzolo saw Ramsey as a great addition:
"A perfect fit for Jacksonville's defensive scheme, Ramsey can play outside cornerback or in the slot, using his length and athleticism to compress the field in zone concepts. He also brings the top grade against the run among corners, adding to his value when playing in the slot. Ramsey can move around the defense and work as a defensive chess piece, but he also has the tools to develop into one of the best press cornerbacks in the league.
"
Jacksonville's 2016 fortunes aren't tied solely to the first-rounder's health and performance, but the team will have to improve what was one of the NFL's worst pass defenses in 2015. The Jaguars ranked 29th in yards allowed (268.2 YPG) and 23rd in opponent quarterback rating (97.2). Football Outsiders ranked Jacksonville 31st in pass-defense DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average).
If Ramsey is unavailable, the Jaguars secondary will likely struggle for another year, hurting the team's playoff hopes.
