Manchester United Transfer News: Ezequiel Garay, Michael Carrick, Latest Rumours
Manchester United will reportedly revive their interest in Argentina centre-back Ezequiel Garay this summer, and it appears Michael Carrick's time at Old Trafford could be nearing its end.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Red Devils are ready to make a move for Garay two years after he left Benfica to join Zenit St. Petersburg, but they will need "an offer exceeding €25 million (£19.4 million)" to tempt the Russians into selling.

It was during his time at Benfica that speculation of a United switch was most fervent, and Garay even said in 2013 that former Red Devils chief David Moyes had the chance to sign him, but he opted not to, per the Daily Mail's John Drayton.
Earlier this year, Squawka's Greg Johnson argued that United needed a ball-playing centre-back to accompany the likes of Chris Smalling, and Garay could yet be that option:
That being said, at 30 years of age, there's not much shelf life in the investment, and the ship may have sailed as United look to recruit a central defender currently closer to his playing prime.
Meanwhile, the Sun's Andrew Richardson reported Carrick could be released this summer after walking out on to the Old Trafford turf with his children after Tuesday's 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

Richardson interpreted this as the clearest signal yet the 34-year-old is poised to leave the Red Devils, with Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra having employed similar tactics prior to their Old Trafford exits.
Carrick has not been offered a new deal to remain with United past this season, and Bleacher Report's Rob Blanchette has called this the right time to cut ties:
It's true the midfielder will turn 35 years of age in July, and one has to question how much the pass-master can offer a team looking to restore its former glory.
In attack, Bleacher Report's Dean Jones has reported Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy could be bought for just £25 million this summer—the alleged value of his release clause—but he wants to remain at the King Power Stadium:
After being crowned a Premier League champion with the Foxes, it appears the England international is among those eager to repay the club for the loyalty he's been shown.
Any success United have seen in attack this season has come largely through youngsters Marcus Rashford, 18, and Anthony Martial, 20, and it seems Vardy won't be the one reinforcing their front line this summer.
