Arsenal Transfer News: Alexis Sanchez Frustration, Henrikh Mkhitaryan Rumours
Arsenal's summer is shaping up to be an intense one after it was reported Alexis Sanchez's frustrations at the Emirates Stadium are growing, and Borussia Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan is being lined up as his replacement.
The Telegraph's Matt Law said Sanchez is growing tired of his time with the Gunners, but the feeling is alleged to be somewhat mutual between the forward and the club's hierarchy. An extract from the report read:
"Sanchez is frustrated with life at Arsenal and only has two years remaining on his contract, with City and Juventus both interested. A number of Emirates insiders have grown tired of the Chile international turning up late for training and acting selfishly on the pitch.
[...]
Wenger is said to be extremely reluctant to now let [Theo] Walcott leave Arsenal this summer, particularly as he will listen to offers for [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain and faces a potential dilemma over Sanchez.

Try though Wenger might to convince Sanchez to remain in north London, the club may have little choice in the matter if the winger refuses to pen a contract extension—his current deal expires in 2018.
The 27-year-old did his bit to suggest he won't be leaving anytime soon, however, after recently taking to his official Instagram account with a message of unity among his Arsenal team-mates:
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain have identified Sanchez as one of three stars they hope will replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, along with Eden Hazard and Antoine Griezmann (h/t Sun's Anthony Chapman).
What's more, Ligue 1 Show presenter Matt Spiro also cited L'Equipe when reporting PSG have even already made contact with the players' representatives, evidence their interest may indeed be genuine:
Law added Mkhitaryan has been elected the man to replace Sanchez should he depart this summer, even though the Dortmund playmaker tends to thrive in a more central role for the Black and Yellows.
The Armenia international has just a year left to run on his current contract, leading to recent speculation over his future with the club, although ESPN FC's Stefan Buczko has hinted negotiations could be underway:
Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga this season, and Mkhitaryan has been force during the campaign, scoring 23 goals and recording 32 assists in just 51 outings, per Transfermarkt.
That being said, the 27-year-old isn't quite infallible, as shown by German football expert Archie Rhind-Tutt:
As things stand, it appears everything hinges on whether or not Mkhitaryan can agree new terms at the Westfalenstadion. In the instance he doesn't, the Germans may look to cash in this summer.
Arsenal would be getting their hands on a sensational supplier if they did sign Mkhitaryan, but their desire to retain Sanchez's services in the long term may well sit as a first priority.
