The Catalan giants finished one point above fierce rivals Real Madrid in the standings after Luis Suarez's treble of strikes inspired the Blaugrana past their lowly finishers.

It is now time for Barca players and fans to celebrate their achievements, with the club already releasing plans for a city-wide open-top bus parade.

Plans have been made to display Barcelona's trophy success to the general public with a parade from the city's seafront, starting at the World Trade Center before ending a short walk away from the club's iconic Camp Nou stadium.

Barca have urged fans from all age groups to attend the victory parade, which is expected to last an hour-and-a-half and be prepared for the area to be "awash with the Barca colours and thousands of jubilant supporters lining the streets of the city centre to cheer their heroes with songs, confetti and a general outpouring of joy," per the club's official website.

The club took to social media to confirm the route they will be taking on Sunday:

In contrast to previous years, the direction of the bus parade has been simplified to enable more supporters to catch a glimpse of the Barca players with the Liga trophy.

Starting at 6 p.m. CET, the bus will move slowly from their initial base onto Avinguda del Paral·lel after a left turn at Placa de les Drassanes.

After a slow drive along one of the city's main roads, the players will go as far as Placa Espanya before a left turn into Avenue Rius i Taulet to end the celebrations.

Per FCBarcelona.com, at regular intervals along the route there will be banners, confetti and other goodies available, as well as giant LED screens to ensure none of the festivities are missed throughout.

The coveted league title will be on show for all spectators to celebrate, after Barca held on to their final-day advantage to claim their first back-to-back league title success since their trio of Liga wins between 2009 and 2011.

Despite a run of three league defeats in a row at the beginning of April—the club's worst run of results for 13 years—Barca never lost their grip on top spot in the final weeks of the campaign.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez netted 40 league goals in a memorable season in Spain, as he picked up the Pichichi Trophy for finishing as the division's sharpest marksmen.

The Blaugrana may have missed out on UEFA Champions League glory after being eliminated from the competition at the final-four stage by rivals Atletico Madrid; however, they bounced back to secure a historic league triumph.

Six championships across eight years marks a significant era for the club as the most dominant side in La Liga. Their prolific triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Suarez and Neymar is arguably the world's most dangerous attacking front line and the supporters can now spend the offseason, and Sunday, in the warm glow of knowing they are once again the team to beat in Spain.
