Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished in second place with 25 goals, while team-mate Thomas Muller completed the podium with 20.
The Poland international opened his tally in Bayern's first Bundesliga match of the season, a 5-0 win over Hamburg, and he added two more goals in the following weeks before putting together the best performance of his season.
Entering the pitch as a substitute against Wolfsburg, Lewandowski scored an incredible five goals in just under nine minutes. Even manager Pep Guardiola couldn't believe what he was seeing, via the Bundesliga's official YouTube channel:
Per WhoScored.com, he would score four more goals in his next two league matches, taking a significant lead in the top-scorer race.
While Aubameyang was also scoring at an impressive rate, Lewandowski proved to be the more consistent scorer, although his pace dropped toward the end of the campaign.

The 27-year-old finished the season with a brace in the win over Ingolstadt and another goal on the final matchday against Hannover 96.
Lewandowski also won the top-scorer award in 2014, his final season with Borussia Dortmund. That year, he scored 20 goals.
