NASCAR shared a video of the winning car coming into Victory Lane:

After winning the race at Kansas Speedway last week, 18-year-old William Byron was the pole-sitter coming into Friday's race at Dover. Despite leading for more than half the race, he finished 11th after a couple of untimely cautions.

The Kansas race saw an ample number of cautions, with the first one coming on the second lap. That wasn't the case this weekend. The first yellow flag was unveiled in the 43rd lap with Byron maintaining his lead.

Mike Bliss and Michel Disdier both lost control of their cars and spun out heading into the turn, via Fox Sports 1:

After 47 laps, Byron fell behind the leader for the first time. Custer bypassed the No. 9 Toyota for the lead, but that wouldn't last long. Custer was called for a restart violation, and the punishment derailed all of his momentum, per Bob Pockrass of ESPN.com:

Byron regained the lead and was also credited for the laps Custer led. After he held the lead for 80 laps, the fourth caution of the afternoon dropped Byron down to seventh at the restart. Tyler Reddick became the new leader as the race neared the halfway mark.

Fox Sports: NASCAR provided a clip of the No. 29 Ford making its way to the top of the pack:

While Byron continued to inch closer to the front, the lead changed again during the 123rd lap, with Crafton becoming the third different leader and opening up a half-second lead over Reddick.

Despite the sixth caution coming in the final quarter of the race, Crafton maintained his lead with 20 laps to go. Motor Racing Network captured an image of Crafton at the head of the pack:

Meanwhile, Byron fell out of the top 10 after a pit-road penalty, courtesy of a crew member, per Fox Sports: NASCAR:

Once Crafton took the lead, it was a clear race to the finish line. Even though the yellow flags were limited, Crafton took advantage of those opportunities and won his first race at Dover.

This was a big-time win for Crafton, who was in sixth in the Camping World Truck Series standings coming into Friday. The win should vault him into the top five, considering he was tied with John Hunter Nemechek and one point behind Tyler Young.

Post-Race Reaction

Crafton's first Monster Mile win would not have happened without his team.

"We've gotten close, and we've had very fast trucks—and this truck was very, very good today," Crafton said, per Reid Spencer of NASCAR.com. "It's all about the guys behind me."

Crafton won his 12th career race, all coming in the No. 88 truck, and yet still found a way to win despite having an off practice the day before.

"This team never gives up because we weren't very good in the last practice," Crafton said, per Spencer. "We were 21st. Junior (Joiner, crew chief) and I sat down and talked for a while—and we talked again. I just showed up later and let him do his work."

Suarez was close to winning his first career race, but just couldn't get any closer to Crafton.

"When I was moving to the top, I thought I was making some ground, but the slow cars were on the top, so it was difficult for me to keep the momentum and stay there," Suarez said, per Spencer. "I don't know what I could have done different to try to complete the pass."
