John Terry Reportedly Rents Stamford Bridge to Stage Farewell Game
Chelsea captain John Terry is reportedly renting Stamford Bridge for a farewell match after being suspended for the final two games of the current season.
Matt Law of the Telegraph said on Monday the iconic defender has told "friends he is considering a lucrative offer from China" but wants to play at the Bridge one final time after hiring the stadium for a private game with his "closest friends" next Monday.
Law said the ground usually costs £22,000 to rent for a day, but the club has allowed Terry to use the stadium for free in a gesture of goodwill to the outgoing skipper.

Law wrote: "Together with being able to play on the pitch, the Stamford Bridge package that Terry has taken up for his big goodbye includes dressing rooms, match officials, use of the dugouts, access to stadium screens and public address system, and a barbecue."
Terry's current team-mates are also planning to give the player a send-off at the Under the Bridge nightclub at Stamford Bridge—following the Leicester City clash on the last day of the season, according to Law.
A switch to China would offer Terry one final huge payday after the explosion of talent that has entered the domestic league in the Far East.

The former England captain would be a major star if he arrived, and it would offer him a platform from which to play during his final years.
Law confirmed there has also been interest in Terry's signature from Qatar and the United States, but he would have to take a pay cut in order to play in MLS.
Defenders are rarely considered marquee acquisitions in America, and Terry would find it difficult to command a satisfactory wage in comparison to the £100,000 per week he earns in England, per Law.
