Kings XI Punjab gave their 2016 Indian Premier League campaign a much-needed burst of life on Saturday after shocking Delhi Daredevils with a nine-run victory in Mohali.
Marcus Stoinis enjoyed a dazzling performance and was one of two Kings players to hit a half-century—Wriddhiman Saha (52) being the other—before taking three wickets to help defend his side's 181-5 scoreline.
Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore completed a remarkable chase to beat Rising Pune Supergiants by seven wickets, where a star display from Virat Kohli led the hosts to a memorable Indian Premier League win.

Kings XI Punjab vs. Delhi Daredevils
Kings XI Punjab (181-5) bt. Delhi Darevils (172-5) by nine runs.
Australian star Stoinis showed his credentials as an all-rounder in every way possible on Saturday and took home the man-of-the-match gong after having a say in all aspects of the Kings XI victory.
Indian outlet HT Sports confirmed "Stonia" as the man-of-the-match winner, with his record of two boundaries also a joint high for the match:
Murali Vijay opened the batting for Kings XI alongside Stoinis and did his part to lay a firm base with a 25-run contribution, while Saha (52) drove the score on, as did Glenn Maxwell (16), David Miller (11) and Axar Patel (16).
Delhi batting duo Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson gave the visitors hope early in their chase, but it was Stoinis who helped collect their wickets in the eighth and 14th overs, respectively.
Per the official IPL T20 website, Vijay spoke highly of the Kings XI bowlers in particular:
"We badly wanted this win. I can't ask more than this because they gave it everything. We said 170 was par and we got 10 runs extra. There was dew factor but amazing bowling from the bowlers.
I just told them to keep believing in their skills and not think about the batsmen. With Mohit and Sandeep, I was confident. The way they are bowling and controlling the innings is unbelievable.
"
The rest of the Daredevils batsmen didn't have the firepower necessary to stumble the hosts, and Kings XI drew back level with Bangalore after grabbing their third win of the 2016 campaign.
Bangalore vs. Pune
Royal Challengers Bangalore (195-3) bt. Rising Pune Supergiants (191-6) by seven wickets.
Royal Challengers looked as though they were staring into the abyss after watching their guests amass a substantial figure of 191, the joint-fifth-highest batting score of any team this Indian Premier League season.
Even Pune might have afforded themselves a momentary sigh in complacency, perhaps not accounting for the batting brilliance of Kohli, who claimed a small piece of Twenty20 history on Saturday, per cricket writer Mazher Arshad:
The Supergiants' streak could have been even greater, too, were it not for the bowling form of Shane Watson, who took no fewer than three wickets—Rahane, MS Dhoni and George Bailey.
Rahane and Tiwary were the heavy hitters for Pune, with their other six batsmen restricted to just 58 runs between them, and the Chinnaswamy Stadium showed Watson their thanks for his hand in that, per Cricket Australia's Samuel Ferris:
Kohli opened the batting for Bangalore alongside Lokesh Rahul, and he proceeded to lay waste to the deficit, totalling eight fours and seven sixes, finishing on 108 not out.
Pune's Adam Zampa did his bit to chop down Bangalore's stride in the 12th over by bowling Rahul and AB de Villiers out in quick succession, with the former leaving with an impressive 38 off 35 balls.

Watson proved to be an efficient weapon for the home side, too, and came in to hit 36 off just 13 balls, offering the quick injection of speed Bangalore needed to overcome the long chase.
Thanks to Kohli's second century of the 2016 IPL campaign, that mission was accomplished, and Pune now face a three-day wait before resuming their calendar at home to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
