How Twitter Reacted to Real Madrid's Champions League Victory over Man City
Manchester City headed to the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid on Wednesday evening with an almighty task ahead of them in their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.

Evidently, CR7 was clearly in rude health when the teams emerged:
Within minutes of the start, Vincent Kompany's evening was over when he walked off with yet another injury:

Real Madrid enjoyed the lion's share of the ball in the first 20 minutes, at which point Gareth Bale opened the scoring with a deflected shot across goal:

The ball was in the back of the net once again in the 36th minute, but Sergio Ramos' effort was ruled offside:
"The offside flag. The one weakness in an otherwise flawless centre-back in Sergio Ramos except for literally any attribute of defending.

As the second half progressed, Kevin De Bruyne started trending:
"De Bruyne isn't having the best of games #RealvCity

With 30 minutes remaining, Yaya Toure was substituted. He did not win plaudits for his lacklustre performance:

Just after the hour mark, Ronaldo found himself with an opportunity to double the advantage, but upon realising he was clearly offside, he deployed the Hands of God:

Overall, the game was not as action-packed as many had hoped:
It finished 1-0 to Real Madrid, who progressed to face Atletico Madrid in the final for the second time in three years. At full-time, however, the mood was one of disappointment at the quality of the tie:
The game may not have entertained, but it did help to prove Spain's dominance on the domestic front:
