Chelsea Transfer News: Thibaut Courtois Responds to Exit Talk Amid PSG Rumours
Thibaut Courtois has stated he is "100 percent" likely to remain at Chelsea despite interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
French publication Le Parisien (h/t Mark Dobson of the Guardian) quoted the goalkeeper reaffirming his commitment to the disposed Premier League champions, and denying he has had any communication with the Paris team over a potential £50 million transfer:
"I have never had any contact with PSG. I have played a lot against PSG recently – twice last season, again this season in a friendly and twice more in the Champions League this year. They are a good club who win their league easily. Me, I like playing in England. Paris is a very good club but I am happy at Chelsea.

Courtois added, per Le Parisien: "I have a contract for three years, so I will say 100 percent [I will remain]. Rumours affect any club where things are going badly. People think the top players want to leave because they are not in the Champions League."
The stopper has previously stated his desire to return to Spain one day, as noted by Dobson, after spending time on loan at Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid.
Here is footage of the player making his name in the Spanish Primera Division:
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo (h/t Andrew Richardson of the Sun) said Courtois has been offered to Barcelona for £50 million, as new manager Antonio Conte targets Fraser Forster and Jack Butland as his potential new stoppers.
The Sunday Times' Duncan Castles highlighted Atletico's initial development of Courtois after a disappointing 12 months at Chelsea:
The 23-year-old featured 24 times for his club in the Premier League and Europe this term, according to WhoScored.com, after winning the title last year, but he has been unable to keep up his stunning form from his days at the Rojiblancos in La Liga.
Courtois' dip in form has coincided with Chelsea's crash in performance value, and he is not the only star player who had failed to meet expectations at Stamford Bridge after the exit of ex-boss Jose Mourinho.
However, a transfer away appears premature at present, as the goalkeeper has not fulfilled his promise in England yet.
There is still much to come from the Belgium No. 1, and Chelsea need to build with Courtois at the centre of their foundations in the seasons ahead.
