Nashville Marathon 2016: Route, Course Map, Times, Event Details
The Tennessee Titans might be looking ahead to next season after the first night of the NFL draft on Thursday, but their home of Nissan Stadium will be getting some usage this weekend.
On Saturday, April 30, the Nashville Marathon will run its 17th edition, with the Titans' stadium serving as the finish line.
With the race starting in Downtown Nashville on 8th and Broadway at 7:15 a.m. ET, 27 waves of runners will start in one to two minute intervals.
Runners will be taken through the heart of the city and its surrounding areas in the process; for the complete route and course map, click here.
For the elite runners, there's some incentive for putting up low times:
| 1st Place | 1st Place | $500 |
| Under 2:18:00 | Under 2:43:00 | $1,000 |
| Between 2:18:00 and 2:23:59 | Between 2:43:00 and 2:47:59 | $500 |
| Between 2:24:00 and 2:25:59 | Between 2:48:00 and 2:49:59 | $250 |
All eyes are going to be on Tennessee native Scott Wietecha, who has won the marathon three-straight years. An elementary school track coach, Wietecha doesn't compete in many other marathons, but he seems to own Nashville.
Given the city's rich music history, there will be plenty of acts playing along the course to keep runners' spirits high during the race.
However, runners will have only six hours to cross the finish line before the course is opened back up to general traffic.
