IPL 2016: Top Run-Scorers, Leading Wicket-Takers, More After Latest T20 Action
David Warner failed to move into first place in the top run-scorers' rankings during Tuesday’s Indian Premier League Twenty20 action, as Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Rising Pune Supergiants and the opener was caught for a duck.
Instead, the bowlers stole the show, with Ashok Dinda leading all IPL players with an average of 7.66 after his three-wicket outing. Team-mate Mitchell Marsh finished with figures of 2-14 and now sports the IPL’s best economy rate, checking in at 5.00.

Rising Pune Supergiants ended their losing streak in impressive fashion, beating Hyderabad by 34 runs (via D/L method) for their best win of the season.
Granted, Sunrisers were without Kane Williamson and Yuvraj Singh, but the team has handled plenty of opponents just fine without those two this season, led by Warner and Shikhar Dhawan.

The latter of those two led Sunrisers’ effort on Tuesday with an unbeaten 56, but the former has been the heart and soul of this team throughout the IPL campaign and lasted just four balls against Pune.
The delivery that took care of Warner came from Dinda, who celebrated by imitating football star Cristiano Ronaldo, via the IPL’s official Twitter account:
He had every reason to celebrate, as Warner entered the contest having scored 294 runs in just five matches. Without the prolific Warner, Hyderabad’s innings quickly fell apart, and they would finish with a score of just 118 for eight.
Dinda was fantastic, finishing with figures of 3-23 and bowling the only maiden over of the innings. The 32-year-old made his first start in this year’s IPL, and there’s little doubt he’ll feature in Pune’s next match against Gujarat Lions on Friday.

Marsh also impressed, as did all of Pune’s bowlers. MS Dhoni praised the group after the match, per ESPN Cricinfo:
"We wanted to bowl first because the wicket stays good right through the 40 overs. The bowlers exploited the conditions well. All the fast bowlers hit the right length, and Ashwin was also able to bowl the way he normally does. If you don't get wickets upfront, batsmen have license to hit any over. So in that sense, it was a good game overall.
"
Pune aren’t known for their wicket-taking ability, with Murugan Ashwin currently leading the team with seven, but their smart risk-free bowling has paid off well at times this season.
They'll need a more aggressive approach against the top outfits of this year’s IPL, as the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions have the bowling talent to restrict Pune’s batsmen as well, and they’ll usually emerge victorious in a straight shoot-out.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians may both have two players ranked among the top 10 run-scorers so far, but neither team would qualify for the play-offs if the season ended today. Strong bowling has ruled this year’s IPL, which is good news for Pune’s play-off chances.
