Jack Wilshere Reportedly Investigated for Alleged Assault After Nightclub Brawl
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly under investigation for an alleged assault and could be in danger of missing Euro 2016 if bail conditions require him to stay in the country.
According to the Mirror's Tom Pettifor, the incident took place after Wilshere, 24, was ejected from London nightclub Cafe de Paris early on Sunday April 3, and he was reportedly "questioned under caution at a police station."
A statement from a Scotland Yard spokeswoman did not explicitly name Wilshere, but she provided the following details, per Pettifor:

"At 02:15 on Sunday, 3 April, police patrolling Coventry Street, W1, became aware of two groups of men involved in an altercation.
Officers intervened and one man claimed he was assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.
A 24-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Wednesday, 20 April.

The Gunners star made his first senior appearance for Arsenal since last season’s FA Cup final on Sunday as he came on as an 84th-minute substitute in a 0-0 draw against Sunderland.
He is battling to make Roy Hodgson's England squad for the summer's European Championships.
But if he is charged for the nightclub incident the midfielder could face "the prospect that bail conditions could result in him missing the tournament, which opens in France on June 10," per Pettifor.
Pettifor added that Wilshere "strenuously denies any wrongdoing and complied with police," while the man making the accusations of assault is "understood to be a London nightclub promoter."
It has long been reported that Hodgson will include Wilshere in his squad for the Euros if he can prove his fitness, per John Cross in the Mirror.
A hairline fracture of his fibula has kept him out of Arsenal's entire 2015-16 campaign, but he now has the Gunners' remaining fixtures against Norwich City, Manchester City and Aston Villa to prove his match fitness.
And the player himself has said he is hopeful that he will be in France, per Sky Sports Football:
Wilshere will undoubtedly attempt to push the reported investigation to the back of his mind as he attempts to regain full fitness.
Meanwhile, he and Hodgson are surely hoping that, after all of the midfielder's injury struggles, it does not end up being a non-footballing matter that rules him out of the Euros.
