A strong team batting performance from Bangalore, including a 37 for Travis Head and a 33 for Virat Kohli, saw them reach a score of 170, but Rohit Sharma's 62 and Kieron Pollard's rapid-fire 40 helped the hosts chase it down comfortably in the end.

Mumbai Indians vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore
Mumbai 171 for four (Sharma 62, Jasprit Bumrah three for 31) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore, 170 for seven (Head 37, Iqbal Abdulla three for 40) by six wickets.
Kohli and Lokesh Rahul got Bangalore off to a promising start, the latter bagging 23 from just 14 balls including four boundaries before he was dismissed in the fourth over by Mitchell McClenaghan.
His replacement AB de Villiers managed 29 from 23, while Kohli hit 33 from 30 as the runs steadily piled up, but RCB were rocked by three wickets in the space of just 20 balls.
Kunal Pandya saw Kohli caught by Tim Southee after mishitting his shot before De Villiers was stumped in the same over following an outstanding delivery, per Sky Sports Cricket:
Commentator Ayaz Memon had his say:
Shane Watson fell for just five, leaving the Royal Challengers on 99 for four after 13.3 overs.
With the introductions of Head and Sarfaraz Khan (28), they were able to salvage an impressive total for Mumbai to chase. As Memon noted, Mumbai had a particularly difficult time dealing with the former:
He was eventually run out, but by then the damage had largely been done, and two late wickets for Khan and Stuart Binny did little. Sky Sports Cricket shared Mumbai's bowling figures:
The Indians did not get their innings off to an ideal start as Parthiv Patel sliced Kane Richardson's quick delivery straight to De Villiers in the first ball of the second over.
Sharma and Ambati Rayudu provided the perfect response, though, as they set about chasing down RCB's score and hit 62 and 31, respectively. Memon and cricketer Scott Styris were particularly impressed with Sharma as reached his half-century in just 44 balls and scored seven boundaries:
ESPN's Bharath Seervi noted the stark contrast between Sharma's performance depending on where he starts in the batting order:
Their dismissals in the 11th and 13th overs left Mumbai in a difficult situation as they still needed 88 more runs.
Jos Buttler's brief cameo became a 14-ball 28 thanks to back-to-back sixes immediately prior to his departure, and Pollard took full advantage of some short deliveries by Richardson and then Watson to pile on 40 runs in just 19 balls, sealing the victory with two overs to spare.
Mumbai take on the Delhi Daredevils in their next outing, so the confidence boost they'll undoubtedly receive is a timely one indeed with their opponents having won their last two matches.
As for RCB, they'll face the Rising Pune Supergiants, who are in similarly bad shape after only one win in their three matches. A similar total to the one they achieved here would go a long way toward securing victory, though.
