German football writer Alex Chaffer relayed the reported value of Neuer's new deal:
Widely considered the best goalkeeper in the world, the 30-year-old has won three Bundesliga titles, two German Cups and a UEFA Champions League since joining Bayern from Schalke in 2011.
Neuer is also a World Cup winner, as he was in goal for the German national side in the 2014 tournament.
It was in Brazil that he truly established himself as the world's best goalkeeper, playing his sweeper-keeper role to perfection to not only protect the German goal, but also to implement attacks from deep, per Paddy Vipond in the Guardian.
He deservedly received the 2014 World Cup's Golden Glove award for the tournament's best goalkeeper and was then nominated for that year's Ballon d'Or, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He has been fantastic during the current campaign, as Pep Guardiola's Bayern side have moved to within touching distance of a fourth consecutive Bundesliga title and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals, per Squawka:
Neuer's new deal will keep him at Bayern until he is 35 years old—an indication that he could remain at the club until he retires—and will ease any concerns that he could be open to leaving Munich.
