Manchester United, Mauricio Pochettino Swoop Reportedly Feared by Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly concerned that their manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to be targeted by Manchester United.
According to Paul Jiggins of the Sun, with the 44-year-old yet to sign a new contract with the club, Spurs are “sweating” on the manager’s position despite the Argentinian having three years left on his deal.
United’s first choice to replace manager Louis van Gaal, said to be Jose Mourinho, is also on the wishlist of Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and Jiggins noted that if they miss out on the Portuguese they could turn to Pochettino as Van Gaal's replacement.

Spurs have enjoyed a wonderful campaign to this point, trailing league leaders Leicester City by just five points.
The 4-0 win at Stoke City on Monday night saw everything align for the team under Pochettino.
Squawka Football summed up the success Pochettino has had this campaign with the football club:
There’s so much to like about the way the manager sets his team up. When he came into the football club there were a lot of players who didn’t fit the blueprint for the way in which he wanted to play. Pochettino has gutted the squad and built a hungry, young and energetic outfit.

Pochettino finds a way to get the very best out of the players at his disposal, has them extremely fit and in the space of just under two seasons, he has turned his side into title contenders.
Adam Catterall of talkSPORT thinks the coach doesn’t need to move to any other Premier League team to achieve his ambitions:
It’d be a huge surprise if United weren’t taking a long look at Pochettino. After all, they too have a group of players in need of a ruthless eye, plus a lot of young players who still have malleable talents.

Van Gaal has earned himself a lot of plaudits recently due to his willingness to give youth a chance. Not only has Marcus Rashford blazed a trail in the early stages of his United career, but Timothy Fosu-Mensah has also come into the team and shone. Pochettino working with those players would be an exciting proposition for those who frequent Old Trafford.
Squawka Football’s Greg Johnson took a look at what is potentially a very exciting young side for next season:
At the moment you do wonder, aside from a potentially massive salary, why Pochettino would make the switch. He’s building a very entertaining and effective team at White Hart Lane, one that looks capable of challenging for titles again in seasons to come and will be competing in the Champions League in 2015-16.
