Leicester City star Jamie Vardy was charged with improper conduct by the English Football Association on Monday for his behaviour following his red card in the Foxes' 2-2 draw against West Ham United on Sunday.

The forward received a second yellow card for diving before confronting referee Jonathan Moss. Sky Sports News HQ confirmed on Thursday that Vardy accepted the FA charge:

Per the FA's official website, Leicester were also charged with failing to control their players after Moss awarded a penalty to West Ham.

LEICESTER, ENGLAND - APRIL 17: Referee, Jonathan Moss sends off Jamie Vardy of Leicester City during the Barclays Premier League match between Leicester City and West Ham United at The King Power Stadium on April 17, 2015 in Leicester, United Kingdom. (

Moss came under fire on Sunday, when he missed several key calls and made a handful of decisions that had fans and pundits alike scratching their heads. He awarded two penalties, one to each team, and both Leicester and West Ham were furious with his performance.

Per the Press Association (for the Guardian), Hammers striker Andy Carroll didn't mince his words:

"

I mean, it is a bad decision – it is bad decisions he has given all game. It's not the first time and probably won't be the last. ...

I think it was a poor decision. I think he's trying to even it up and I think a lot of people have said that. It's not acceptable. Week-in, week-out we've had bad decisions.

"

The Times' Henry Winter also didn't hold back:

Vardy's aggressive reaction following his dismissal was always likely to result in a charge, however, and the FA's decision shouldn't come as a surprise, despite Moss' dreadful outing.

However, the charge couldn't have come at a worse time for the Foxes, who lead Tottenham Hotspur by eight points in the title race. Spurs still have a match in hand, and with four matches left to play, every single result will be crucial moving forward.

Vardy has by far been Leicester's top scoring threat, and he's virtually irreplaceable in the starting XI. With contests against Swansea, Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea on the schedule, the Foxes must hope their ace striker won't miss too much time.
