"Juventus could welcome Marchisio back in six months, after the midfielder underwent a positive operation," Gazzetta World reported.
Euro 2016 Hopes Dashed for Marchisio
Marchisio left the pitch on a stretcher during Juventus' 4-0 win over Palermo, and Juventus quickly confirmed his worst fears, announcing the midfielder had torn his ACL.
The 30-year-old has been a constant force in Juventus' midfield for much of the 2015-16 season, although he did miss time with another injury during the early goings of the campaign. He also didn't feature in the 4-2 UEFA Champions League loss to Bayern Munich.
Mario Lemina replaced him against Palermo and will likely be the preferred option to play in the centre of the pitch next to Sami Khedira moving forward, while Simone Padoin will provide further depth.
The Bianconeri should be able to cope with his absence this late in the season, but for Italy's Euro 2016 chances, Marchisio's injury is a disaster.
Per James Horncastle of BT Sport, Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti is already a doubt for the tournament, and manager Antonio Conte can ill afford to lose yet another star midfielder.
