Bournemouth vs. Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp's Key Pre-Match Press Conference Quotes
The performance Liverpool turned in against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday will not be a one-off, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.
The German was addressing the press on Saturday in the wake of his team’s extraordinary triumph over BVB, when they scored three goals in the final 30 minutes to bag a 5-4 aggregate win in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final. And Klopp thinks stirring showings like that can happen more frequently for this set of players, per the Liverpool Echo:

Klopp referred to Liverpool’s memorable UEFA Champions League triumph in 2005 to galvanise the players at half-time. And the coach thinks that in years to come, Reds teams will recount their showing against Dortmund as similar inspiration, per James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo:
Dejan Lovren was the man who netted the decisive goal in the 4-3 win on the night, towering high at the back post in injury time to send Anfield wild.

Klopp reserved special praise for the defender, who has been criticised since his move to Liverpool, as well as Daniel Sturridge, who was introduced as a second-half substitute:
Liverpool are synonymous with drama under the lights at Anfield, and even though Dortmund looked to be in control of the contest, there was a sense the Reds weren’t done in the tie.
Before the game Liverpool supporters lined the streets leading up to Anfield in support of their players, as we can see courtesy of Premier League Zone:

Klopp admitted he was a little taken aback by the atmosphere created on the night, and his players wished to send their gratitude to the supporters:
Although the hype following the Dortmund game meant a lot of the assembled media were keen to discuss it, Klopp was adamant he and this team need to look ahead:
And the German had a lot of praise for his opposite number on Sunday, Eddie Howe, insisting his team, who sit an impressive 11th in the division, have done tremendously:
Liverpool will have to cope with their own injury issues when they head down south on Sunday. Klopp confirmed Emre Can could miss the rest of the season due to a problem he picked up against BVB, while stating there will be a few changes for the game:
While the focus will be on Europe for Klopp and his players between now and the end of the season, the manager will be keen to see standards kept high in the remaining weeks of the Premier League season. And with injuries in key positions, there’s a chance for players to push themselves into the manager’s thoughts for the Villarreal semi-final.
The Reds can’t afford to take liberties against Bournemouth, as Howe’s side have shown they have enough to punish lacklustre opponents. Still, buoyed by the remarkable events at Anfield on Thursday, Liverpool should approach this clash with confidence.
