Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Renato Sanches and Arda Turan
Arsenal will reportedly challenge Manchester United in a deal to sign Benfica wonderkid Renato Sanches this summer, while the Gunners will also take on Chelsea in their bid to land Barcelona winger Arda Turan.
According to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail, Arsenal sent scouts to watch Sanches on Saturday, where he was nominated man of the match for his display in Benfica's 2-1 win over Academica.

United have long been linked with the teenager as his fondest Premier League admirers, and Jones mentioned the Red Devils have been locked in talks with the Eagles since January regarding the player's transfer.
And according to Metro's Portuguese football expert Jan Hagen, Saturday wasn't the first time the Gunners have watched Sanches—who reportedly has a £60 million buyout clause—this season:
Manager Arsene Wenger has cause to covet the 18-year-old, too, considering midfield veterans Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky each looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium when their contracts expire this summer.
According to Jones, scouts from Bayern Munich, Southampton and PSV Eindhoven were also present for Benfica's win over Academica, although Squawka's Greg Johnson feels it's too soon for such a high-profile switch:
Difficult though that deal would be to pull off, it may not compare with the complexity of a move to sign Turan, who was only cleared to register for Barcelona in January after moving to the club last summer.
But talkSPORT sourced a report from Catalan daily Sport, which claimed Wenger's side is ready to rival London peers Chelsea in their hunt for the Turkey international this summer.

Turan has endured a difficult start to life in the Barcelona lineup, but his integration now appears to be smoothing after scoring two goals in his last five Primera Division games—his only goals for the club.
The 29-year-old's chances of moving to Arsenal seem slim, however, after he recently dished the Gunners a backhanded insult, as pointed out by Bleacher Report's Rik Sharma:
That kind of comment suggests the winger is content to fight for his place at the Camp Nou rather than "settle" for what he would appear to see as a less glamorous life in north London.
Turan has made 20 appearances under Barca chief Luis Enrique, but he's yet to establish himself as a key cog in Catalonia, and Arsenal and Chelsea will duke it out to tempt his talents away from La Liga this summer.
