College Football Playoff Prediction Series: Week Four
The people have spoken and tournaments of size eight and 16 are the overwhelming favorites. In my ever attempt to hone your interests I have added a modification of the Mountain West proposal to compete with the given Eight-Team playoff.
Last Week
Three top teams fell this week, all to the teams that replaced them in the playoff models. This is proof positive that the regular season does, at times, act like a playoff. California gave the Pac-10 lead to Oregon, Penn State gave the Big Ten lead to Iowa, and Miami gave the ACC lead to Virginia Tech.
Boise State capitalized on California's loss and ascended into the coveted Four-Team playoff along with Florida, Alabama, and Texas. TCU slid up into the Eight-Team playoff following Penn State's loss. Ohio State has clawed its way back into the 16-Team playoffs now that the ACC has reduced itself to a single representative.
The National 16-Team playoff is continuing to climb the listings and the Three-Team playoff has finally been dethroned by the Four-Team playoff. Post your thoughts on these playoffs.
The Poll
If you have proposals that you'd like displayed next week, then link to them or describe them in the comments section. Up to two may be added for each new iteration of this series.
Each week, there will also be a poll for which proposals make the most sense. The playoff with the least amount of support may not appear next week, at my discretion.
Enjoy the playoffs below, given in an order considering last week's vote.
