China Open Snooker 2016: Tuesday's Scores, Results and Updated Draw Schedule
Ali Carter became the latest big name to be eliminated from the 2016 China Open, as he suffered a shock 5-2 loss to Mark King on Tuesday.
England's Martin Gould was also stunned by Chinese schoolboy Yuan Sijun as he was thrashed 5-0, but world champion Stuart Bingham made it through the first round with a 5-3 victory over Sam Baird.
After the likes of Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui fell out of contention on Monday, the draw for this year’s title has really opened up.

Tuesday Recap

Bingham looked in fine form against Baird and produced three consecutive centuries to see out his match in Beijing.
The world No. 2 went 2-0 behind early on, but fought back to 4-2 ahead, with breaks of 78, 143, 119 and 109.
Baird won the seventh frame, but Bingham claimed the final stanza he needed and will now face Ian Burns in the next round after he whitewashed Peter Ebdon.
Gould had no answer for his 15-year-old opponent, who produced breaks of 51, 102 and 55 in his comfortable victory over the world No. 13.
Yuan, a wild-card entry in the tournament, explained that it was a watershed victory for him, per World Snooker:
"I felt good in general and my opponent left chances for me so I managed to make some decent breaks. My coach told me that I needed to work on clearing the colours and long potting and I think it worked.
My parents are not with me here because their presence would have made me nervous, which has happened before. Two wins in a row is a breakthrough for me.
"
Marco Fu found three centuries on his way to an impressive 5-2 victory over Yu Delu, while Rod Lawler was convincing in defeating Peter Lines.
With the likes of Ding and Robertson out of the running, Carter, a former world No. 2, would have fancied his chances of making a push for his first ranking title since 2012. But his struggles in the big tournaments continued against King.
Having gotten to the interval level at 2-2, Carter seemed well-placed to push on. King, to his credit, played well after the break, though, and he recovered from a tough spot in the sixth frame to land a decisive blow, per the Mark King Fans Twitter feed:
"Despite trailing by 54 with 75 remaining, Mark clears up like a King to lead an incredible 4-2! One more to go now #ChinaOpen #TeamKDOG
— Mark King Fans (@Kingy147Fans) March 29, 2016"
From there Carter was always going to find it difficult to come back and will be hugely disappointed to have fallen at the first hurdle here.
Tom Ford, who eventually lost 5-3 on the day to Kyren Wilson, was put in a major predicament by his opponent, but he somehow managed to escape without haemorrhaging too many points:
Also out is the popular Anthony McGill, who burst onto the scene last season with a run to the world championship quarter-finals. He lost 5-3 to Englishman Jimmy Robertson, who will go head-to-head with Trump in the second round.
