WWE Superstar Power Rankings for Week of March 28

The Doctor Chris MuellerMar 28, 2016

This week's WWE Superstar Power Rankings look significantly different to last week's list thanks to a few Superstars stepping up and a couple of surprising returns.

WrestleMania 32 is coming up on April 3, so we are in the homestretch before the biggest pay-per-view of the year.

The card is stacked with potential show-stealers, and with there set to be a record-breaking crowd of over 100,000 screaming WWE fans, it's going to be the biggest event in WWE history.

The most unexpected event of the week was Zack Ryder going from total obscurity to being in the Intercontinental Championship match at 'Mania.

Let's take a look and see how the top 10 has changed this week.

10. Zack Ryder

1 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

You're not imaging things, and the title of this slide is not a typo. Zack Ryder, the man who always seems to be in the doghouse, had a great week.

Not only did he find himself thrust into the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania 32, but he ended up being the last man standing in a seven-person brawl on SmackDown.

Ryder is still popular with many fans, and even though he is probably getting this opportunity because of Neville's unfortunate injury, he is still going to be in a match at the biggest show of the year.

He is the kind of guy who will always put 100 percent into everything he does, even if he is frustrated with how management treats him.

The odds of him winning the IC title are about as good as Dixie Carter and Vince McMahon having a baby, but it's still going to be fun to watch 100,000 fans chant "Woo woo woo!"

9. Kane

2 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

Kane has been out of the spotlight for months, but he came roaring back this week when he took out every member of The Social Outcasts and Big Show on Raw.

Whether you like him or hate him, you have to admire Kane's ability. He is 300 pounds and 48 years old, but he still capable of being a great asset.

He may never be world champion again, but there is still value in his character. Kane is a company man in every sense, and he is always willing to put someone else over for the greater good.

He is much closer to the end of his career than the beginning, and if he plans on hanging up his boots soon, winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania would be a great way to go out.

8. The League of Nations

3 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

The League of Nations is made up of four international Superstars with different skills, and while it might seem like one of the most random stables in WWE history, it has a lot to offer.

The group's feud with The New Day has been a nice change of pace. The tag team division has some great talent, but it felt like we were seeing the same title matches every month.

Throwing Sheamus, Rusev, King Barrett and Alberto Del Rio into the mix has not only helped add some variety, but it has allowed The New Day to make a babyface turn without much effort.

Sheamus picked up a win over Kofi Kingston on Raw, but Rusev failed to defeat Big E on SmackDown. It will be interesting to see whether either team can gain the advantage heading into Sunday's pay-per-view.

7. Charlotte

4 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

Charlotte wasn't wrestling much while Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch were fighting over a Divas title match at WrestleMania, but that all changed when she faced Natalya on Raw and Banks on SmackDown.

Natalya and Charlotte have great chemistry, and the same can be said about the champ and Banks. These two bouts reminded us why Charlotte is in the position she finds herself.

She defeated Natalya, but she wasn't able to put down The Boss. She will have two capable opponents at 'Mania, so her time as Divas champion may be coming to an end.

6. Sasha Banks

5 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

Banks is one of the most entertaining and talented Divas in the company, so it comes as no surprise to see her in the Divas title match at WrestleMania.

Picking up a win over Charlotte on SmackDown gave her some momentum heading into the PPV, but there are still a few more shows between now and then for Charlotte to get retribution.

To see the three women who started the Divas Revolution fighting over the title is a testament to their skills and efforts over the past year, and if they give us the same kind of performance as what we saw at all those NXT TakeOver specials, the Divas title match will be one of the best bouts of the night.

5. The New Day

6 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 5

The New Day stayed even at No. 5 after Big E picked up a win over Rusev and Kofi Kingston suffered a loss to Sheamus on SmackDown.

Woods, Kingston and Big E are used to having the advantage when it comes to numbers, but they are heading into WrestleMania as the underdogs in a handicap match against all four members of The League of Nations.

This bout was originally scheduled to be for the Tag Team Championships, but it is now simply listed on WWE.com as a battle for stable supremacy, so their titles are safe no matter what happens.

Seeing The New Day make such an easy transition from heel to babyface has been fun. Hopefully the group's members can stay just as entertaining as good guys as they were when they were the villains.

4. Kevin Owens

7 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 6

Kevin Owens jumped up a couple of spots on the list this week thanks to solid performances on both Raw and SmackDown.

He attempted to put one over on his rivals by convincing Stephanie McMahon to allow him to book a No. 1 contender's match, putting in Ryder, Stardust and Sin Cara instead of Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz.

He has ended up having to defend the title against all six competitors WrestleMania, but it also gives him the opportunity to show the WWE Universe how good he can be in a Ladder match.

Anyone who has saw his bout against Finn Balor at The Beast in the East WWE Network special last year knows he is dangerous with a ladder in his hands. He will get the chance to show the world at WrestleMania.

3. Brock Lesnar

8 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

Whenever Brock Lesnar makes an appearance, he makes a big impression. Whether he is standing there while Paul Heyman speaks for him or he is fighting, it's hard not to pay attention.

Lesnar made a rare SmackDown appearance in a segment that saw him take out The Wyatt Family and Dean Ambrose in decisive fashion.

The Beast may have gotten the upper hand against his WrestleMania opponent, but the Street Fight stipulation will help even the odds for The Lunatic Fringe.

Lesnar will likely appear one more time before 'Mania to hype his match. Even if he doesn't, his contest with Ambrose will still be one of the most anticipated bouts at the Showcase of the Immortals.

2. Dean Ambrose

9 of 10

Previous Rank: No 4

Ambrose jumped up two spots this week after two great segments with Terry Funk and Lesnar and a main event match against Braun Strowman on Raw.

Ambrose is one of the most intriguing Superstars on the roster, and he continues to prove his worth week after week.

His promos are always convincing, and his wrestling ability is off the charts. Giving him segments with Mick Foley and Funk has helped him up his hardcore credibility, but he was already pretty crazy before he had a chainsaw and barbed-wire bat in his hands.

If he is able to defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania, it will be a sign WWE has big plans for him in 2016.

1. Roman Reigns

10 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 3

Roman Reigns may not be the most popular Superstar on the roster, but he is doing a great job tuning out the haters.

His segment with Stephanie on Raw showed how a serious Reigns is a better Reigns, and his match against Bubba Ray Dudley on SmackDown helped him look like a worthy competitor.

He took out both members of The Dudley Boyz without breaking a sweat. While it did nothing to help Bubba Ray and D-Von heading into their match with The Usos, it made Reigns look like a force to be reckoned with.

Triple H and Reigns are both powerhouses, but both have unique skills in addition to their power, so the fight over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship should be a lot of fun.

Who do you think will leave WrestleMania as the champion?
