WWE WrestleMania 2016: Early Predictions for Announced Matches on Card

Aaron BowerMar 22, 2016

WWE WrestleMania 32 is starting to take shape, with eight matches confirmed for the card at the biggest pay-per-view of the year.

Although some of those matches look fairly unappealing and uninteresting, there are already predictions all over the Internet for the bouts WWE has locked in.

Whether it's the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Triple H and Roman Reigns at the top of the card, or even bouts like The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz at the bottom, there is plenty to get stuck into in terms of predictions.

With just one more taping of Raw to go to influence the thinking of WWE fans as to who will win each match, here's some early predictions for the matches we know are definitely taking place.

The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz

1 of 8

In all honesty, this is a match we may end up seeing on the pre-show, but with nothing confirmed just yet, The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz may end up sneaking onto the main show.

There's been fairly little build for the match, with Bubba Ray and D-Von's heel turn not yet fully capitalised upon.

In fact, the most telling thing we've seen from The Usos is their role alongside Roman Reigns, as the duo stopped him from assaulting Triple H further on Raw last week.

So this is a match that doesn't really stand out in comparison to the rest, but in terms of a winner, you'd be tempted to lean more towards The Dudley Boyz.

WrestleMania is a stage where longevity and longtime service is often rewarded, and if WWE has serious intentions to place Bubba Ray and D-Von back in the tag title picture, a win is needed here to get their heel turn on the right track.

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

Kalisto vs. Ryback (United States Championship)

2 of 8

This is another match that has been given a minimal amount of exposure and storyline depth—so expect it to take place early on in the night next Sunday.

Do we know for sure that Ryback is definitely a heel again? He's changed his look for sure, and his body language is certainly different. But there's been little in the way of heel shenanigans from The Big Guy, which has left little clarity over the rivalry itself.

Kalisto looked set for big things when he finally got away from his long-standing feud with Alberto Del Rio, but his reign with the United States Championship just hasn't got going at all.

However, you would imagine that with WWE still seeking for a top Latin star, Kalisto will have enough to retain here.

The challenge for WWE, then, is to get someone worthwhile into a rivalry with him and make the U.S. title sparkle again.

Winner: Kalisto

The New Day vs. The League of Nations

3 of 8

WWE's two biggest stables lock horns with the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line, as The New Day take on The League of Nations in a handicap match.

Given the length of time The New Day have held the belts now—in excess of 200 days—you'd assume that it would be time for a change.

But they're starting to solidify themselves as a top babyface group again, given how they're feuding with a genuine heel stable, and their title reign still feels like it has more to give.

And with The League of Nations not really feeling in a position to win the titles and dominate the tag division, this should be The New Day's night.

After all, they deserve it for how well they've carried the division in recent months.

Winners: The New Day

Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch (Divas Championship)

4 of 8

Will Charlotte continue her stranglehold on the Divas division in her first WrestleMania?

This is perhaps one of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the night, as three of the most talented female wrestlers on the roster lock horns with the Divas Championship on the line.

Charlotte has done a decent enough job as Divas Champion, but it feels like the title and the division is ready for a change.

So if we're assuming Charlotte loses, who will be the winner?

Becky Lynch has been a great part of this feud—as she was in her earlier rivalry on her own with Charlotte—but the obvious choice is Banks.

She's the standout Diva on the roster right now, and with her as champion, anything could be possible.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Seven-Man Ladder Match (Intercontinental Championship)

5 of 8

We will have another multi-man Ladder Match at WrestleMania this year, as Kevin Owens puts his prized title on the line against six other men.

The issue with this match, though, is that the quality of some of the competitors is remarkably low.

You can probably instantly write off any chance of Stardust, Sin Cara, Zack Ryder or The Miz winning—and perhaps Dolph Ziggler too, although he has a fairly better chance than the other men mentioned.

So that leaves us with just two—Owens himself and Sami Zayn.

Few would have argued if that would have been the match itself, with Owens and Zayn going one-on-one and continuing their electrifying rivalry.

They will have plenty of chances to tussle during the latter stages of the match—and in order to keep their feud going, it has to be one of those two men who win.

The more likely winner seems like Zayn, in truth.

Winner: Sami Zayn

The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon

6 of 8

WWE has at least managed to inject some clarity and intrigue into this match by announcing a valid reason for The Undertaker to side with Vince McMahon at long last.

After all, it was wholly confusing in recent weeks to see 'Taker side with the boss for no reasonbut when Vince announced that it would be his last 'Mania if Undertaker lost, we know now there's a reason for his involvement.

So will Shane McMahon have enough to get over the line to do the unthinkable and beat The Undertaker?

There would have to be a major twist to see 'Taker beaten, but you feel like something has to happen to continue the power struggle at the top of the company between Shane and Vince.

The most likely scenario would probably be Shane being screwed and 'Taker picking up another WrestleMania victory.

Winner: The Undertaker

Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar

7 of 8

WWE has done a decent job in its plans to make Dean Ambrose look like a credible contender for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Having some hardcore legends lend Dean a hand has been an entertaining twist, but will it be enough to beat Brock?

The challenge for the company is that if Ambrose loses, it has to make Dean look strong enough to continue his impressive momentum.

He is bound to be physically dominated by Lesnar; that is for sure. But if and when Brock wins, Dean has to look strong.

Expect Lesnar to win, but not without Dean putting up one hell of a fight.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

Triple H vs. Roman Reigns (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

8 of 8

Rather worryingly, the most predictable outcome of the night at WrestleMania lies in the main event.

Will Triple H manage to hold onto the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? The odds seem incredibly slim indeed.

WWE has its plans in place for Reigns to be the man at the top of the company, and no matter how much fan backlash there is, that won't change.

Roman is going to prevail at WrestleMania in what will be a brutal battle, but what's worth noting is how WWE makes the match intriguing enough to leave fans doubting what is going to happen.

Winner: Roman Reigns
