WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE WrestleMania 32 for Week of March 18

Aaron BowerMar 18, 2016

As WWE rolls on towards WrestleMania 32, with the April 3 pay-per-view just a matter of weeks away, injuries are again dominating the latest rumors surrounding the company.

There was a major exclusive on the future of one legend who, if fit and available, would almost certainly be part of WWE's plans for this year's 'Mania.

With more worrying news for WWE fans to digest about the state of the company's roster, here's the latest rumor roundup.

Sting to Announce Retirement at WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony?

The big news concerning WWE this week is obviously the speculation that Sting is about to retire from in-ring competition.

This was a story broken by TMZ earlier this week, and the finer details of the story make for interesting reading.

The report says that Sting has actually been diagnosed with the same condition—cervical spinal stenosis—that forced Edge into retirement five years ago.

This is clearly a huge blow for WWE, as you suspect the company would have had plans to bring The Icon into the running for a role at WrestleMania, probably inside the ring.

The report goes on to mention that Sting could announce his retirement at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, when he is due to be inducted into professional wrestling's most illustrious group.

Whether it's true or not remains to be seen, but if it is, it will be a shame to not see him go out on his own terms.

Bray Wyatt Also Injured?

The bad news keeps getting worse for WWE when it comes to injuries.

The latest setback reportedly concerns Bray Wyatt who according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Lords of Pain) is dealing with a "pretty significant back injury" right now.

Wyatt hasn't wrestled for almost two weeks now, and that was an eight-man match. His last solo match came on March 7 against Dean Ambrose on Raw.

This may be a clue as to why there's been so little in the pipeline for Bray in terms of WrestleMania plans. If he's got a problem that could restrict him from wrestling, maybe WWE is being hesitant in its plans for him.

There's no doubting that the 'Mania card would be stronger with an efficient and worthwhile Bray Wyatt feud. Hopefully he can shake this problem off and get competing again, but there's so little time between now and 'Mania that it looks like any sort of rivalry would be a rushed one.

Roman Reigns' Future Opponents?

With Roman Reigns likely to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, talk will shortly turn towards who his first challengers for the title will be.

You would imagine he will shake off the challenge of Triple H pretty quickly post-WrestleMania, which gives someone else an opportunity to step up to the plate and try topple The Roman Empire.

Well, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlingInc.com), discussed the latest on the aforementioned injury to Bray Wyatt, calming fears of a lengthy absence and suggesting he could be in line for another feud with Roman.

"[Wyatt's] supposed to do something with [Brock] Lesnar at some point, he's supposed to do something with Roman Reigns again, they're supposed to go back to that," Meltzer said. "It sounds like Bray is going to be the top heel down the line, and that hasn't changed. It's not like the injury is so big that they have to redo that."

This will be music to the ears of Bray's fans, especially when Wyatt is described as a "top heel" down the line by Meltzer. Will these plans come to fruition?
