Bray Wyatt's Best Booking Options for WWE WrestleMania 32

Alfred KonuwaMar 18, 2016

For somebody who wrestled two of the biggest stars in WWE history in his first two WrestleMania matches, Bray Wyatt sure is having a quiet WrestleMania season.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlingInc.com) recently reported that Wyatt is struggling with an ailing back, although he is not expected to miss an extended amount of time.

Injury or not, Wyatt is in serious danger of missing WrestleMania 32 after one of the most impressive two-year resumes in recent memory. So what now?

There are still a few viable options for both Wyatt and his family at WrestleMania, even if they don't specifically involve wrestling on the card.

Wyatt cut one of his signature cryptic promos this past Thursday on SmackDown, saying he knows something that nobody else does. Is he hinting toward an alliance with a McMahon? The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal? The Intercontinental Championship?

WWE clearly has something significant planned for Wyatt at WrestleMania. He has remained a fixture on WWE television despite not having a clear path to WrestleMania. He's like the pro wrestling version of John Kasich.

Scenario: Bray Wyatt Enters the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

With WrestleMania slots quickly filling up and no feud for Wyatt, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is the most likely landing spot for him. Sure, it doesn't sound glamorous, but Wyatt can make it his own by winning with help from The Wyatt Family and treating the trophy as an actual god.

Imagine the creepiness of a Wyatt shrine dedicated to the Andre the Giant trophy. Maybe this way, WWE would finally keep the trophy on television for more than a month after the winner was crowned.

A dominant Wyatt performance in the Battle Royal would stand out at WrestleMania. It doesn't take much for WWE to bring championships, trophies and accomplishments back from the dead. By winning the United States Championship and holding a weekly invitational, John Cena played a significant role it from afterthought to top-tier title.

By getting creative, Wyatt can have a similar effect on what it means to win a Battle Royal that has really meant nothing for the past two years.

Odds: 11-4

Scenario: Bray Wyatt Interferes in Shane McMahon-Undertaker Match

Given its supernatural overtones, The Undertaker-Wyatt feud feels like it never quite ended. Much like The Undertaker versus Kane, his is the type of feud that can be restarted at any moment because demons never die.

Wyatt will likely spend the rest of his career in The Undertaker's shadow until he upstages him on a big stage. As I mentioned on the WrestleZone Daily podcast, costing The Undertaker a match against Shane McMahon at WrestleMania to help usher in a new era could be Wyatt's ticket to officially supplanting The Deadman.

By affecting the finish of the Undertaker-McMahon match, Wyatt can go from WrestleMania afterthought to a leader of the new school.

An alliance of Shane McMahon and Wyatt would be quite awkward, as it would hearken back to the short-lived Corporate Ministry.

But with Wyatt currently in limbo, there are few options that would bolster his career more than a partnership with Shane.

Odds: 4-1

Scenario: Bray Wyatt Competes for the Intercontinental Championship

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlingInc.com), there is a rumored multi-man match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania.

Wyatt is a candidate for a match like this because there is usually little buildup or storyline prior to its announcement. It's basically just a bunch of talented WWE Superstars who don't have feuds.

This seems like the type of match that is better suited for a Wyatt Family member like Luke Harper (who competed in last year's multi-man Intercontinental Championship ladder match) or even Braun Strowman. Few matches will be considered an upgrade from facing The Undertaker, but being thrown in a fray of midcard WWE Superstars for a secondary title is almost as big of a downgrade as the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Given the intriguing teases, hopefully WWE has something better in mind.

Odds: 9-2
