WWE Superstar Power Rankings for Week of March 14
This week's WWE Superstar Power Rankings looks significantly different from last week's list thanks to some great performances, returns and an addition to the main roster.
WWE Roadblock gave us some memorable matches, especially when it came to the NXT tag team division, Divas and the main event.
Natalya and Charlotte came close to stealing the show on Saturday, but Triple H and Dean Ambrose ended up putting on the best performance of the night.
WrestleMania 32 is already looking like it will be a great pay-per-view. The event is set for April 3, so there is plenty of time to round out the card with the best possible matches.
Let's take a look at how the WWE Superstar Power Rankings have changed over the past week.
10. Luke Harper
1 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt faced Brock Lesnar in a handicap match at WWE Roadblock, but for all intents and purposes, it was Harper vs. Lesnar.
Wyatt stayed out of the ring for the entire contest, watching his loyal follower face the most intimidating man on the roster.
Harper didn't just roll over and take the loss like many of Lesnar's opponents. He actually put up a good fight, taking The Beast down a few times and hitting some impressive maneuvers.
Everyone always talks about how misused Wyatt is, but Harper is the real victim. He is more versatile than Wyatt in the ring, and he deserves his own push.
When The Wyatt Family disbanded for a short time, WWE did nothing with Harper beyond give him a short Intercontinental Championship reign. That's just lazy booking. This is a guy who weighs roughly 300 pounds and moves around the ring like a lightweight. How officials haven't found a better way to use him is a mystery.
Since his encounter with Lesnar will be included on a later slide, I decided to include a match he had with John Cena in which he shone as a singles competitor.
9. Shane McMahon
2 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Shane McMahon returned to Raw after taking a week off, and he finally saw some action. While his decimation of Vince McMahon's security team was unconvincing, he still made an impact.
Shane is the kind of person who puts all his energy into everything he does. Even when he misses a step, he still manages to make things interesting.
It still seems impossible for him to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but it doesn't matter if he wins. As long as he can put on a good match, people will be happy.
If Shane somehow manages to beat The Deadman, we could see him stick around for longer than we initially thought when he returned a few weeks ago.
8. Sami Zayn
3 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Sami Zayn is officially part of the main roster, and the WWE Universe couldn't be happier. This is a guy who helped make NXT great, and hopefully he continues to find success on Raw and SmackDown.
His first appearance on Raw saw him save Neville from being powerbombed into the apron by Kevin Owens, which is the same way Owens originally took Zayn out in NXT.
He went on to wrestle a tag team match with Neville on SmackDown against Owens and The Miz. It was a fun bout that helped showcase Zayn's skills to those who don't watch NXT.
It seems pretty obvious Zayn will end up challenging Owens for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32, and if it's anything like their previous encounters, it will be one of the best matches of the night.
7. Brock Lesnar
4 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Brock Lesnar comes roaring back into the top 10 for his dominant performance against Harper at Roadblock.
Every time Lesnar appears on TV, he makes a big impression. His presence is enough to draw you in, but having Paul Heyman by his side makes him even more intriguing.
Lesnar didn't get his hands on Wyatt, but the way The Eater of Worlds retreated to the back after Harper was defeated helped sell how intimidating Lesnar can be.
WrestleMania 32 will see The Beast take on Ambrose in a Street Fight, so the next few weeks should see both Superstars do their best to hype their big showdown.
6. The New Day
5 of 10Previous Rank: No. 6
The New Day stayed at No. 6 this week, but that doesn't mean the group is stagnant. In fact, the trio had a great week.
Kofi Kingston and Big E successfully defended the Tag Team Championships against AJ Styles and Chris Jericho on Raw, and they put them on the line again at Roadblock against Sheamus and King Barrett.
If that wasn't enough, they will defend the titles again against Rusev and Alberto Del Rio on Raw. Putting the belts on the line three times in two weeks might be some kind of record.
Xavier Woods is always entertaining at ringside, but it would be nice to see him wrestle a little more often because he is a great performer with a lot to offer.
Some of their shtick might be getting repetitive, but they always manage to entertain the crowd, and that is what's most important.
5. Charlotte
6 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Charlotte has taken a bit of a backseat in recent weeks so Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch could fight to see who gets to challenge for the Divas title at WrestleMania, but she forced her way to No. 5 with a great match against Natalya at Roadblock.
She might not be the best on the mic, but when she gets in the ring, Charlotte is one of the best heels on the roster. Her technical skills are great, but it's her ability to make you dislike her that makes her such a good character.
She has reached a point where she no longer needs Ric Flair by her side, but the 16-time world champion probably enjoys supporting his daughter, so he might stick around for a little while.
If the Divas title bout at Mania is anything like the NXT Women's Championship matches Charlotte, Lynch and Banks had, it will be one of the best of the night.
4. Natalya
7 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Natalya may have lost her match against Charlotte at Roadblock, but her performance was good enough to warrant ranking her a little higher than the Divas champion.
Natalya is one of the most technically proficient wrestlers in the company, not just among the Divas.
WWE has wasted her talent for a long time, but there is no way the powers that be can't see how valuable she is after the clinic she put on with Charlotte.
Natalya's willingness to help the younger women is great, but WWE needs to get its act together and give her another reign as Divas champion. Hopefully she is given a more prominent role after WrestleMania.
3. Chris Jericho
8 of 10Previous Rank: No. 5
Chris Jericho moved up the rankings a few spots this week after turning heel and attacking AJ Styles on Raw. Y2AJ was short-lived, but it was the best decision for his character.
Jericho is one of those wrestlers who is so good at playing face and heel roles that you don't care if his transitions come out of nowhere.
At a time when heels are cheered by fans because they are so talented, Y2J is one of the few people who can still garner real heat from the crowd.
The promo he delivered on SmackDown was right on the money. The image of him standing in front of a fire with an evil look on his face may have been a little cliched, but it was still effective.
We have already seen Styles and Jericho fight a few times, but they are good enough that people will be happy to see them have one more match at WrestleMania.
2. Triple H
9 of 10Previous Rank: No. 3
Triple H jumped up one spot on this week's list after his incredible match with Dean Ambrose at Roadblock. Like Jericho, he is able to take several months off and return just as good as when he left.
The Game is one of the few people who has mastered the psychology and pacing needed to make a match more than just a technical clinic. Everything he does in the ring has a purpose, and there is no wasted energy.
He and Ambrose helped tell a story with their ringwork. We all knew deep down Ambrose was not going to win the title, but Triple H helped him look like a legit main event star.
To see him still perform at such a high level after all these years is amazing, and it's even more impressive when you consider how many other things he has on his plate.
His title reign will likely come to an end at WrestleMania, but if Trips can make his bout with Roman Reigns as entertaining as the one he had with Ambrose, it will be the best part of WrestleMania.
1. Dean Ambrose
10 of 10Previous Rank: No. 1
Ambrose tops the list for the third straight week. You might think this writer is just an Ambrose mark, but that is not the case.
He earns the top spot every week by evolving his character and giving us memorable matches and entertaining promos.
Ambrose is what you might call a Swiss Army knife wrestler. He can take to the air, brawl with the best, put on a technical clinic and put everyone else to shame on the mic.
With the right booking, The Lunatic Fringe could become as popular as Daniel Bryan was at the height of his run. It's going to be interesting to see how he does against Lesnar at WrestleMania.
If WWE is smart, Ambrose will be booked to win so he can continue to gain momentum until he eventually becomes the champion.
What do you think? Will Ambrose defeat Lesnar at Mania or take a trip to Suplex City?
