Jamie Vardy Doesn't Follow Title Rivals' Games, Plays Call of Duty Instead

Joe GallagherMar 7, 2016

With Leicester City edging ever closer to Premier League immortality, you might have thought that they'd be watching their title rivals' games at every possible occasion.

But according to Jamie Vardy, that's not the case. He prefers to play video games during crunch matches in the Premier League title race.

The race took an unexpected twist last week, when West Bromwich Albion held the Foxes to a draw on Tuesday, which left the door ajar for Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City 24 hours later.

However, all three lost their matches on Wednesday, allowing Claudio Ranieri's side to open up a five-point gap at the top, thanks to Saturday's 1-0 win at Watford.

But did Vardy follow the madness? Not according to the Mirror (h/t Leicester Mercury).

Leicester City's English defender Danny Simpson (L), Leicester City's Welsh midfielder Andy King (C) and Leicester City's English striker Jamie Vardy appluad the fans following the English Premier League football match between Watford and Leicester City a

"I saw a lot of people saying the results last Wednesday night went in our favour. But I was playing Call of Duty on the PlayStation," he said. "I had the football on in the background but it was Liverpool beating Manchester City."

He's following the party line by saying that all Leicester can do is take care of their own fixtures.

"As I've said before it's down to us," he continued. "We'll just keep doing each game as it comes and keep trying to pick up as many points as possible."

The mission continues against Newcastle United next Monday.
