Tamba Hali Reportedly Re-Signs with Kansas City Chiefs
Tamba Hali has played for the Kansas City Chiefs his entire career, and will continue to do so after agreeing to a new deal with the franchise prior to the start of free agency.
Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the two sides agreed to a three-year contract, citing a league source. Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports then confirmed the deal.
Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reported the March 4 deadline to agree to an extension had passed. As a result, the linebacker's contract had been voided.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hali has recorded 86 career sacks in his 10 years with Kansas City. He has recorded at least 6.0 sacks each season since 2009 and tallied 6.5 sacks last year.
The 32-year-old outside linebacker from Penn State is second on the Chiefs' all-time sack leaderboard, trailing Hall of Fame pass-rusher Derrick Thomas (126.5 sacks).
Hali, who has made five consecutive Pro Bowls since 2011, has missed only four games in his 10-year career and has started in 155 of the 156 games he's played.
Hali has recorded double digits in sacks three times and was an important piece in Kansas City's third-best scoring defense this past season. He became the primary pass-rusher for the Chiefs after All-Pro linebacker Justin Houston missed the last five games of the regular season because of a hyperextended knee.
The Chiefs have gotten consistent play from Hali since he came into the league. He has not shown any signs of declining play and has been durable.
If the Chiefs want to have another strong season like they did in 2015, solidifying their pass rush by retaining Hali is a good first step.
