Arsenal Transfer News: Havard Nordtveit Talks Reported, Latest Gunners Rumours
Arsenal are reportedly looking to re-sign Havard Nordtveit from Borussia Monchengladbach when the defensive midfielder's contract expires in the summer.
The Norwegian spent three-and-a-half years with the Gunners before joining Gladbach for £800,000 in December 2010 after failing to break into the first team at the Emirates.
According to German outlet Bild (via Jamie Anderson in the Daily Star), Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants to take him back to north London in the summer and the club are "holding talks" with Nordtveit's representatives.

The report added that the 25-year-old's current contract with the Bundesliga side expires in the summer, and he is thus eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal, while he could "expect a significant increase to his £50,000-per-week wages if he arrives in the Premier League."
He has been encouraged to sign a new deal with Gladbach, and a decision over his future is likely imminent, per German football writer Alex Chaffer:
Nordtveit can operate as a deep-lying midfielder, a centre-back and a right-back and thus would be a terrifically useful addition to Wenger's squad, allowing him to be more variable with his back-line formation.
He has played in 20 of Borussia's 23 Bundesliga matches this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist, per WhoScored.com.
As can be seen below, he is capable of the spectacular in front of goal:
As back-up and competition for the likes of Francis Coquelin, Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny, Nordtveit could play a key role in the Arsenal squad, while he would definitely be a worthy addition on a free transfer.
Another player who could reportedly move to the Emirates for free in the summer is Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons.
According to the Mirror, the 20-year-old Englishman has not agreed a new contract with the Magpies and is expected to depart at the end of the season, with Arsenal now being linked to him—along with AC Milan and Juventus.

Aarons has hardly been a huge success at Newcastle, starting only three Premier League games this season, per WhoScored.
However, he could add some decent pace to the Arsenal squad on the left wing, and if Wenger thinks he can mould him into an effective attacker, then he could well get a move to the Emirates.
