WWE NXT Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from February 24
Bayley and Carmella sought revenge Wednesday night as they battled Nia Jax and Eva Marie in the main event of NXT on WWE Network.
The Divas tag bout, won by the villains, capped off a show featuring some of the brightest young talent in the industry.
Tommaso Ciampa continued his winning ways with a victory over the now-departed Bull Dempsey, and Apollo Crews got back on track by beating newcomer Christopher Girard.
It was American Alpha, though, that strengthened its championship aspirations, as he team defeated Blake and Murphy in a quality tag match to kick off the night's festivities.
The show may not have had many lasting effects, other than setting in motion a high-profile women's title match sometime in the near future, but it was the same fun and energetic show that NXT always is.

American Alpha vs. Blake and Murphy
1 of 4American Alpha, composed of Chad Gable and Jason Jordan, continued its march to the NXT Tag Team Championships as the duo battled Blake and Murphy.
The babyfaces frustrated the opposition leading into the first break of the night, bumping both Blake and Murphy.
A huge clothesline halted the momentum of Gable, though, and led to a two-on-one beatdown. The former amateur wrestler found himself isolated from his partner, desperate to make a tag but proving to be unsuccessful in his quest.
Showing his resilience, he made the hot tag to Jordan, who exploded into the match with a series of suplexes that knocked the wind out of the opposition. A flapjack followed before the babyfaces put Murphy away with Grand Amplitude.
Result
American Alpha defeated Blake and Murphy.

Analysis
Gable and Jordan are so fun to watch that it was easy to miss the fact that this was essentially a glorified squash.
Sure, Blake and Murphy isolated Gable, but it was really the babyfaces who shined, whether it be early on or late, during the energetic comeback.
This was hardly the first time American Alpha has netted a win over Murphy and Blake, so it really has no bearing on its standing. Thus, it was merely an excuse to put the team over credible opposition. In that case, it succeeded.
Apollo Crews vs. Christopher Girard
2 of 4Christopher Girard, more commonly known as Biff Busick to fans of indy wrestling, made his NXT debut Wednesday night but found himself face-to-face with one of the hottest commodities in the sport, Apollo Crews.
Girard looked strong early, delivering a series of uppercuts that leveled Crews. He worked a chinlock for the majority of the match, keeping things basic for the most part.
Crews powered out and mounted a comeback, using a jumping clothesline and a version of the Stinger Splash to stun his opponent.
His trademark powerbomb finished Girard and netted Crews a much-needed win.
Result
Apollo Crews defeated Chris Girard.

Analysis
It feels strange to say this because he is such a dynamic in-ring performer, but there is something about Crews that bores this writer, and it may not be strictly his fault.
He has remained over because he is a special talent, but he has not evolved his character, connected with audiences beyond his in-ring work or been involved in that one special rivalry that forces him to improve.
If that does not happen, Crews will continue to wallow in mediocrity rather than realizing his full potential as a game-changing wrestler.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Bull Dempsey
3 of 4
In what was Bull Dempsey's final televised match with NXT, he battled the surging Tommaso Ciampa in singles competition.
Ciampa completely outclassed Dempsey, controlling the match for the majority of the four-minute run time.
Bull mounted a slight comeback late, peppering Ciampa with jabs, but the former Ring of Honor star grabbed hold of his arm and applied the bridging armbar for the submission victory.
Result
Tommaso Ciampa defeated Bull Dempsey.
Grade
D
Analysis
This was not the most inspiring match for Dempsey to go out on, though that had more to do with the structure of the match and the lack of time the wrestlers had to work with.
Ciampa was dominant and looks to be moving onto a sustained push of sorts within NXT, at least based on his win streak of late.
For fans of the Boston native and great wrestling, that is a good thing.
Bayley and Carmella vs. Eva Marie and Nia Jax
4 of 4The main event of this week's show was set up two weeks ago, when Eva Marie and Nia Jax attacked both Bayley and Carmella following a hard-fought NXT Women's Championship match.
Wednesday night, the four women did battle in a tag match that pitted real-life friends Bayley and Carmella against their antagonists.
Jax threatened to take control early, using her strength advantage to put Bayley down. A series of corner clotheslines had the babyfaces celebrating heading into the break.
Back in the ring, Jax maintained control for the heels, while Eva Marie nearly let Carmella back in the match. Jax righted the ship, though, and continued to pummel Carmella.
Late on, Bayley received the hot tag and wasted little time unloading on the opposition, including a Bayley-to-Belly suplex to Eva. Jax broke the pin, preventing a crushing defeat.
Moments later, Jax delivered three straight leg drops to Carmella, only for Eva to tag herself in and pick up the pinfall victory.
Result
Eva Marie and Nia Jax defeated Carmella and Bayley.
Grade
C+
Analysis
As a match, this was typically solid, as one would expect from the NXT women's roster.
Eva Marie excelled in this setting, as her deficiencies were not as glaring as normal. The heel work from her late in the match, tagging into the match to capitalize on Jax's work, was brilliant and makes her even more unlikable.
Carmella is growing as a worker with every passing week and looked phenomenal here as the babyface in peril, while Bayley excelled as the fiery heroine late.
