Saturday Recap

Everton came through a tough fifth-round match with Bournemouth on Saturday evening, but were ultimately too strong for their opposition.
The Toffees have been masterful on the road in 2015-16 in all competitions, and they continued their steely away form at Dean Court.
A drab first half awoke after the break as the fixture came to life. It was Everton who took advantage of the increase in pace and verve, as England international Ross Barkley continued his goalscoring exploits.
The midfielder saw his 55th minute shot from distance cannon off Dan Gosling, looping wildly over goalkeeper Adam Federici and sneaking inches under the crossbar.
Everton doubled their lead 14 minutes from time as Romelu Lukaku capped a man-of-the-match performance with a tap-in.
Opta Joe highlighted Lukaku's brilliance:
The Cherries continued to battle throughout the game, but Everton have improved since the turn of the year and always maintained control, deservedly collecting their win and producing value for money.
Pundit Didi Hamann was impressed by the Toffees' contingent:
Reading and Hull earned great results against superior opposition on Saturday, as the Royals took their place in the last-eight, defeating West Brom 3-1.
A goalless first half was quickly followed by an early West Brom strike in the second period, as Darren Fletcher gave his side a precious lead after 54 minutes.
However, the hosts wasted no time levelling the scores, as Paul McShane struck back. The defender flicked his header past goalkeeper Ben Foster after he escaped his marker from a set piece.
The Royals were in front with only 18 minutes left on the clock, sending the Madejski Stadium crowd into raptures.

Michael Hector was the hero of the hour as Reading once again profited from a set piece.
The goalscorer arrived at the far post to convert his opportunity and put his side one foot into the next round.
The Baggies came on strong in the closing moments; Saido Berahino had a chance cleared off the line as Reading held on, and the Premier League side looked out of luck.
The Championship team wrapped up a famous win in injury time as late substitute Lucas Piazon scored with his first chance of the game, firing through a beleaguered defence.

In Saturday's other matches, Watford edged out Leeds in a close game at Vicarage Road, as an own-goal broke Yorkshire hearts.
Scott Wootton was left with his head in his hands after smashing a first-time volley dramatically into his own net.
It was enough to put the Hornets through to the next round, sending Leeds back north after a miserable cup defeat.
Arsenal dominated Hull in their cup tie at the Emirates Stadium, but a rigid rearguard kept the Tigers in the competition with a goalless draw.

Steve Bruce's men threatened in the closing stages as they pushed for a shock counterpunch, but Arsenal will feel they did enough to deserve a win.
The Gunners will suffer with an increased fixture schedule now, and their hopes of retaining the cup have been damaged.
Wenger is likely to play a rotated side when they travel to Hull, but their endeavours in the league and Europe will be the primary focus.
Everton looked in good shape in their battle with Bournemouth, and will be considered the dark horse to win the competition.
