AC Milan, Napoli Reportedly Among 35 Italian Clubs Investigated for Tax Evasion
Thirty-five Italian clubs in the country's top-two tiers, including AC Milan, Napoli and Lazio, are reportedly being investigated by finance police as part of an investigation into alleged tax fraud.
That's according to a Tuesday report from the BBC, with Jeremy Klayman of Gazzetta World noting "AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, Napoli's owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and Lazio president Claudio Lotito are among" the individuals in professional football being investigated.
The BBC reported a total of 58 people involved in the case, while Klayman put that number at 64, with Paris Saint-Germain's Ezequiel Lavezzi and Modena manager and former Argentina striker Hernan Crespo also subject to the inquiry.

Per the BBC report, the Italian authorities are "executing search warrants as they carry out asset seizures to the reported value of €12 million euros," and the investigation dubbed Operation Offside "is believed to concern allegations of falsifying player transactions."
Klayman also noted the Rossoneri's headquarters were raided on Monday morning. Further, Milan's lawyers "dismissed the allegations as unfounded and said they expected the case to be dismissed" in a statement on the club's official website (h/t BBC).
