Journalist Labelled 'Fat Man' by Van Gaal Issues 'Pounds vs. Points' Contest
In the press conference that followed Manchester United's 3-3 draw with Newcastle United on Tuesday, manager Louis van Gaal singled out a journalist and called him a "fat man."
That journalist was the Sun's Neil Custis, who responded to the barbed comment by claiming his weight gain was the result of a knee operation.
Clearly unwilling to let the issue rest, Custis has issued a "pounds vs. points" challenge. From the Sun:

"So Louis, first of all, thanks for pointing out the weight issues on Tuesday night. I hadn't actually noticed until you mentioned it.
But now you have, the challenge is you've got to get more points than I lose pounds.
I'm aiming for two stone between now and the end of May, so that's 28lbs—you've got to get 28 points.
"
Custis added there is a £1,000 prize at stake for the challenge, courtesy of a bookmaker.
United will need to earn an average of 1.65 points per game from their remaining 17 league matches for Van Gaal to succeed in the contest. Thus far, they have managed 1.62 points per game.
