Bayern Munich Transfer News: Gonzalo Higuain Eyed, Kevin De Bruyne Revelation
Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted the Bundesliga giants are interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain, but he is not confident Napoli will be willing to sell their Argentinian star.
The 28-year-old has been in flying form this season, with his 18 goals in 19 matches a key reason why Napoli currently sit atop the Serie A table, per WhoScored.com.
Higuain's form has not gone unnoticed, and Rummenigge recently revealed Bayern's interest in the striker, but even he does not expect they will be able to pull off the transfer in January, per David Manuca on Goal.com: "Clearly, Higuain is a player we like, he is doing very well, and I think he'll be happy with that. Despite that, I doubt my friend [Napoli president] Aurelio De Laurentiis will sell."

Bleacher Report's Dean Jones and Sam Tighe recently predicted Bayern would do no business in the winter window, as their squad is already good enough:
Indeed, Pep Guardiola does already seem well set in the goalscoring department, with Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski both in terrific form.
However, while Bayern seem to be running away with the Bundesliga—they are currently eight points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund—Guardiola may wish to add greater depth as he looks to win the UEFA Champions League.
The second half of the season often throws up injury problems, and bringing in Higuain would allow Guardiola to rotate his front three while adding even more goals to the squad.
The Spanish manager is set to move on from the Allianz Arena at the end of the season and is targeting a Champions League win to top off his three-year tenure, per the Bundesliga:
While Bayern arguably already have a good enough squad to become European champions in 2016, the addition of Higuain would give them an even better chance.
However, with the former Real man contracted to Napoli until 2018 and enjoying one of the best seasons of his career, it does indeed look a tricky signing to pull off.

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne nearly moved to Bayern Munich before eventually making the switch to Manchester City, according to the Belgian's agent.
Patrick De Koster has revealed De Bruyne had an agreement to move to Bayern from Wolfsburg, but the deal collapsed over the transfer fee, per Belgium's Sport/Foot Magazine (via MailOnline's Spencer Morgan):
"Kevin's heart was beating for the Bundesliga, where he broke through at Bremen and became a star at Wolfsburg. I'm convinced he would have played for Bayern if they had been able to pay the asking price. We reached a personal agreement with Bayern after two meetings. The deal has collapsed on the asking price.
I think that Bayern wanted to pay €50 million (£37.5 million), but not any euro more. In the end City won the race and Kevin is super happy with his move. He adapted fast on and off the pitch.
"
The Sky Blues paid £55 million for De Bruyne following his stellar 2014-15 Bundesliga season—which earned him the Footballer of the Year in Germany award—in which he netted 10 goals and provided 20 assists, per WhoScored.
The 24-year-old has settled well at the Etihad Stadium, and if he continues to perform at such a high level, Bayern may yet regret not stumping up the cash to sign him.
However, such is the quality of their squad at the moment that they should go on to achieve great success in 2015-16 despite having missed out on De Bruyne.
