'Football Manager' Director Offers Harry Kane Apology for Underestimating Him
Few could have predicted Harry Kane's incredible breakout 2014-15 campaign—even those whose job it is to predict such things.
In an interview with Steve Myall of the Mirror, Miles Jacobsen, the director of the Football Manager video game series, admitted he personally offered an apology to the England striker for underestimating his ability:
"We did always have him as all right [sic] but I have personally said sorry to him because there was a long period where he was on loan at other clubs and we didn't think he was going to reach the heights that he has done.
I met him at the London Football Awards and he is known for playing a lot of computer games and I said 'we get 0.5 percent wrong, you were one that we got wrong', and he said to me one of the reasons he was trying so hard was to make sure his stats were better in the game.

The bods at Football Manager shouldn't beat themselves up too much; even Kane himself couldn't have predicted his 31-goal season.
But it is certainly interesting to know the 22-year-old is being inspired to reach new heights on the field so that he may improve his virtual stats.
