Manchester United Transfer News: Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Latest Rumours
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has stated no amount of money would convince the club to sell reported Manchester United target Harry Kane.
The England international forward has been in tremendous form in 2015, bursting into life in the Premier League and cementing his status as one of the most dangerous goalscorers on the continent. After another brace against Norwich City on Boxing Day, Pochettino said the striker will be going nowhere.
“There is no price,” said Pochettino, per the Press Association (h/t ESPN FC). “No one can buy him. He is not for sale. There is not a value because it is impossible to put a price.”

According to Tom Allnutt of the Press Association (h/t MailOnline), the Red Devils are reportedly keen on the 22-year-old striker. With a toiling Wayne Rooney and raw Anthony Martial the main options available to manager Louis van Gaal, the point of the attack is certainly an area where the Red Devils could do with some reinforcement.
As noted by MailOnline's Adam Crafton, United’s goal return has been pretty bleak as of late:
Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail thinks moving for Kane would help United alleviate some of their recent issues:
"It would have to be a big bid, obviously. In excess of what United paid for Anthony Martial, not quite as extraordinary as Real Madrid's offer for Gareth Bale. Yet it has to be substantial enough for Tottenham to be drawn into conversation.
Then United have a foot in the door. And that may be as far as they get; it certainly should be, given Tottenham's present circumstances. But this January, United must at least attempt to trigger a dialogue.
The club have a problem, and Kane is one of the few who can fix it. He scores goals; United need goals. Equally, the club need a goalscoring hero. United's culture demands it; at least it demands a quest.
"

Naturally, Kane would be an ideal purchase for the Red Devils, but even before Pochettino made his stance clear on a potential sale, it seemed as though a transfer was unlikely. The Argentinian is building an exciting young team at White Hart Lane, and the forward, who is Spurs through and through, is at the core of it.
His goalscoring return for 2015 has been incredible, especially when you consider Kane was battling to get into the Tottenham starting XI this time last year, per the Premier League Twitter feed:
United used to be renowned for signing the best English players during the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, and while they've lost sight of that recruitment strategy since his retirement in 2013, they would surely love to get Kane on board.
However, at this juncture, the forward will see no reason to push for a move away from his beloved club, with Spurs enjoying a rapid rise.
Cristiano Ronaldo to Retire at Real Madrid

According to his agent, Jorge Mendes, Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo will end his playing days at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Van Gaal previously claimed the Red Devils were interested in luring their former player back to Old Trafford, per BBC Sport.
However, speaking with Sky Sports (h/t Mirko Calemme of AS), Mendes was adamant the Portuguese has no plans to leave Los Blancos.
“He’s the best player of all time and I am sure that he will play the next four, five, six, seven years at Real Madrid; he will end his career there,” said the agent. “He’s happy with Los Blancos; he’ll hang up his boots when he’s 40.”

The prospect of Ronaldo trailblazing about the Old Trafford surface again would be enough to get pulses racing among United supporters.
As we can see here, although the Portuguese isn’t quite the same kind of player who left the club in 2009, he’s still a hugely effective goalscorer:
If Ronaldo were to come back to England, he’d likely operate as a No. 9 instead of an enterprising winger. It’s a transition that has been expedited this season, and as we can see here, courtesy of WhoScored.com, after some recent struggles by his own high standards, the Portuguese seems to be getting back in the groove:
Nevertheless, it’s not a transfer the Red Devils should pursue. As good as Ronaldo remains, it’d take a huge amount of money to bring him back to the club, and though he could well play on for many more years, as Mendes noted, his influence in general play will only diminish in seasons to come.
United should instead be looking to the future. For all his flaws, Van Gaal has assembled a squad containing some bright young players, with Luke Shaw, Memphis Depay and Martial all possessing the potential to become world-class stars. That’s a trend supporters would surely love to see continue.
